Initially the staff were very friendly and helpful but that only lasted until I informed them that I wouldn't be able to take up the lease due to the timescale the landlady wanted. Since then their eagerness to help has completely vanished (despite being registered on their prospective tenancy list) which only leads to the perception that they aren’t really genuine when it comes to finding the right property for renters. Perhaps for them it is just about the money. Thankfully we aren’t short of letting agents in Amersham - though decent ones are hard to come by. Sadly, despite their claims to the contrary, Hydegate are not one of them.

I’ve never been treated with such disrespect in 25 years renting across the world. 7 years in the same house. Paying each month. Maintaining the house. They wanted to increase 26% the rent. We said it was too much to have a conversation. They send us notice to leave while repairs were on hold for over a year… They came to talk to us to “mediate” between us and landlords but they did nothing to protect us and our little ones but only do what landlords requested even though it was unmoral (like delaying our deposit and refuse to pay the bill for a pest control issue due to the foundations of the house). Luckily the Deposit protection exists for a reason. And they had to return our deposit. Last… they claimed us stuff that they own builder did… Again… I’ve never felt as insulted in my life…

One of the worst agents to deal with as a tenant. My deposit and over paid rent is stuck with them for week now and they still not able to clear it. Have to chase them every time with False promises. Cheap agencies are not always the best , so do avoid if possible.

I did a online enquire through the right move website regarding a house which is up and let by Hydegate, I have heard nothing back at all and I know they got the enquirey as I had email confirmation. My fiancé called up about the same property to be told it had already gone however is still active on right move, he was informed that Hydegate had another property coming up shortly and they would send the details over, my fiancé made it clear we are looking for a 3 bedroom, by the afternoon we hadn’t heard nothing so had to chase to get the information, when it was sent over the house which is becoming available is only a 2 bed, my fiancé replied back via email and we have heard nothing on return. Extremely unprofessional service and we certainly won’t be looking to rent via this estate agent going forward! It seems like they just want your money!NegativeProfessionalism
