When arranging viewings by potential buyers the care at times was quite hit and miss.. ie coming to do a viewing and leaving our house key in the office. On another occasion only leaving messages on our land line when I had told the office we would be away.and we could be contacted on my mobile or by email. Having said that - the staff were always polite and smart.. However, once we had an offer Andrew was very proffessional, making sure before we accepted the offer that finances were in place from our buyers. Phillippa has been very supportive always returning my telephone calls even quite late into the evening and following up any queries..
Very professional service - from viewing to exchange.....we had a few ''issues' in the process from other parts of the chain, but the communication was great from the team at all times., especially helpful as we were relocating from a distance. Only reason not 4 stars - when we viewed the house for the first time, there was another viewing immediately after us and we felt rushed at the end, as we would have liked to have a longer look around at our own pace, as we were only in the area for day - a minor point
Unlike most other agents we approached, BOP came across as actually wanting to have our enquiry. They gave reassurance and a welcoming attitude which encouraged us to view and ultimately rent through them. The follow up service has so far been excellent.
Bond Oxford were good at keeping interest going whilst the house was on the market for over a year. However, communication was poor once we had accepted an offer and it was difficult for us to manage the rapid and unexpected demands of an early completion date by our buyers.
I'm sure with an easy, straight forward sale and rental this estate agent excels, leaving you feeling rosy and warm in your new home. However the test of a good estate agent is how they handle things when they present a challenge and this is where this estate agent fails. Quite simply - to avoid a lengthy rant - this agency wouldn't know the meaning of the word pro active if it jumped up and bit them on the ****. Some may say it's the typical and possibly endearing Devon manana, however I say it is just sheer laziness and arrogance that dictates that the customer can never be right and that the customers instruction or view is dissmissed as irrelevant. Perhaps the partner Wayne Clifton should have as his strap line the immortal lines of the song from Annie; 'tomorrow, tomorrow, I love you tomorrow, your only a day away'. To add context to this review, I have been a customer of this estate agent for over ten years as both a personal buyer and seller and as a property developer and landlord.
