Rude staff (not all but a couple) looked down on by a young lady when calling in heanor branch. Property was severely mouldy. Tried to accuse me and my partner of damage to the property that was already clearly stated in the tenancy agreement. Bombarded with letting visits the moment we sent leaving notice and tried but failed to negotiate some of our bond. Absolutely disgusting behavour. Needless to say I got the full bond back.

We had several different agents come round to value our property and Whitegates gave the highest valuation and so we chose to put our house on the market with them. The photos taken weren't up to my standard, the detail on the website and rightmove was incorrect including room dimensions, I had to chase several times to get the board up and to have these details updated. I ended up doing the majority of the pictures myself, they couldn't organise the pictures so they flowed on rightmove eg 2 x lounge photos 2x kitchen photos, and so on, it was messy eg lounge- kitchen- garden- bedroom- kitchen- lounge. The overall attention to detail was very poor. Whilst chasing I was finding no one was answering the phone, returning voicemails, nor responding to emails. I asked a friend to call to make an enquiry on our house, to see whether they just weren't picking up for me. She phoned twice over 2 days, left a voicemail the second time with the enquiry and her called wasn't returned. Whitegates were told to remove our property from the market the next week. Someone should ALWAYS be available to answer the phone and ALWAYS returning voicemails. As a seller i couldn't get through and it was apparent potential buyers could not either. I have also noted that there are very few Sold signs on Whitegates boards. As the valuation was significantly higher than other agents I have a feeling the valuation is set high to lure you in. Which wouldn't be such an issue i guess if they actually worked to present your house to the buyers market in the best possible light, but that wasn't the case. I had been warned from a neighbour who sold their last home with Whitegates that service was poor but I've experienced it for myself. Deciding to sell your family home is stressful enough you don't need lazy agents. I would say to potential sellers, don't be afraid to look outside of heanor for other agents, I've had good conversations with agents in ripley and belper and have also seen several boards from those agents with sold signs in the local heanor area.

Booked a viewing but had to take time of work as agents dont view after 5pm or all day Saturday. The agent didn't turn up and no one called us. If I was the vendor I'd be fuming as we have decided we don't want to deal with whitegates and we will look elsewhere.
