Absolutely will not go with these again when looking for a property to rent, went to view a property in Huddersfield bare in mind I am no where close to Huddersfield spent over £13 in taxi there only to be told that the viewing isn’t at 11am but if I want to stick around till 12:45 that is what time the viewing will be there is no cafe or restaurant anywhere close to the property so would have to wait around in the freezing cold for an hour and 45 mins bare In mind was there 15 prior to the viewing time because I don’t like to be late or make other people wait around for me and to top it all off the property was in worse condition than what it looked like on the website the windows looked like they had mould on them and from what I could see through the windows there was trash and previous tenants items in the living room area. Absolutely would not recommend and wouldn’t waste my time with them again worst first property owner experience ever!!!!

I wish it were possible to give them zero stars. Whitegates Huddersfield is an appallingly unprofessional and self-serving agency. Their conduct shows utter disregard for tenants — consistently evasive, incompetent, and exploitative. Rather than act as fair agents, they appear driven solely by greed and by finding creative ways to hold onto tenants’ deposits. Avoid them at all costs; dealing with this agency is an exercise in frustration and mistrust.

Applied for a viewing for a rental property via online. Waited for a few days and an estate agent got back to me to ask if i was still interested in the viewing and i said yes. So she took my details down and gave me a time and date for the viewing which was a Saturday at 9:30am. The day came was waiting outside the rental property for the estate agent to come to show us the property and no one showed up so rang Whitegates and said where is the estate agent i got an appointment for a viewing and she checked the diary and said there is no booking for a viewing for this property. So did i just make up the time and date and stood outside this house for no reason then. They said sorry and told me to ring the office back on Monday.

AVOID!!! If I could give 0 stars I would. A bunch of incompetent bullies who really DO NOT care how they treat you as a client and despite making formal complaints they just go round in circles and don't actually answer for any of their mistakes! They think its acceptable to put a tenant into a property which they have been told doesn't have a job, do not credit checks or obtain a guarantor. Then think its fine for us as the Landlord to suck up the losses when said tenant leaves mid-tenancy without paying. After speaking to said tenant direct, she also confirmed they used bullying tactics with her and were extremely unhelpful & rude towards her. Take your money elsewhere and use an estate agency that knows that they are doing instead of one that is doing the bare minimum which they call "industry standard" They are merely processors to obtain their management fee. Now having issues with one of their contractors all because, yet again, Whitegates are incapable of using some common sense and giving full facts and instead just do the bare minimum to get a job done. They DO NOT have the Landlords best interests in mind!

Absolutely appalling to tenants. They make promises but never follow through. Repairs? HAH! Forget about them. We told them about a leak before we moved in. It's still leaking after we moved out 6 years later. It's even affecting the neighbour's house. Our landlord defaulted on his mortgage and we had bailiffs coming to our door looking for him, but when we told Whitegates, they said the landlord had told them it was fine so it must be fine. 6 years of lies from the landlord and still they believed his every word, but us? We were left in a damp, mouldy, draughty house and were eventually evicted BY THE COURTS when the landlord didn't pay his mortgage...again. Even after 6 years of rent increases and empty promises of repairs. The support from Whitegates during the eviction? None-existent. They're currently trying to claim that we owe them rent for the period after we left and they want to keep our deposit even after 6 years of being ignored and eventually being evicted by the court. We'll gladly go to court for it AGAIN. Nothing but useless thieving crooks.

Unfortunately my experience with them has been very poor recently, wasn’t expecting such a way to treat a long term tenant who has been very cooperative throughout the tenancy period and is doing his best to work with you to find a new tenant after changing in my situation!!!
