Very disappointed with this letting company. Poor communication and slow to respond to issues. Would not recommend

I’m not even a tenant here. I’m just a visitor who came to check in on someone whose mental health has been steadily deteriorating because of the conditions she’s been forced to live in. She moved in with hope, with excitement, thinking she was starting a new chapter in a place she could finally call home. But the moment she stepped into the this flat she realised it was built on lies, neglect, and empty promises by the letting agency. This place is not just unfit to live in — it’s actively harming her. She’s reached out time and time again, sending emails, making phone calls, desperately asking for help, and each time she’s been ignored, dismissed, made to feel invisible. How do you sleep at night knowing someone is suffering like this under your responsibility??? How do you look at this situation and do absolutely nothing? You as letting agencies have a legal obligation to provide liveable conditions for your tenants. Not only that, we as people are meant to help each other because this is not just poor management it’s inhumane. THIS IS HER LIFE, she isn’t an ATM bro. FIX HER ISSUES NOW or we are taking legal action.

Whitegates have been passive-aggressive since they took over my landlords houses under a managed fee, they don't do any work to warrant this fee, I still work with my landlord directly but they are too blind to see Whitegates are charging them an 18% fee for no work, they send emails with demands about upping rent, forcing inflated prices in the local area because the landlord owns a portfolio of properties. 3 months before our contract ended - and days before Christmas, they sent out a email demanding we agree to re-sign a new contract with a £150 increase on our rent. The law states we could refuse, but this highlights the shady practices of this company.

Been a tenant for 3 years. This situation has been extremely challenging, unprofessional, and discriminatory. Despite sending numerous emails to the office, particularly to an individual named Olivia Laycock MARLA, the Manager, my £2500 deposit has not been returned, and I have been denied a copy of the lease agreement. As a consumer and tenant in the UK, I am entitled to request a copy of the lease agreement and the return of my deposit. I have lodged a complaint with their Complaints Department, but have not received any response. I have made countless phone calls, only to be hung up on. My tenancy agreement ended in October 2024, yet I am being pressured to pay rent until March 2025, despite vacating the property in April 2024 and fulfilling my lease obligations until the end date. I have personally experienced bullying and disrespect, including an incident at their main office involving their main director, Mr. Chan, with Olivia providing cover for him. With no other recourse, I have resorted to legal action to recover my funds. I urge others to steer clear of these individuals, as they exhibit unprofessionalism, rudeness, and discrimination.

AVOID AVOID AVOID!!! Lose Business using these people. Came 10 minutes late to a viewing due to traffic, I had already called in to inform I was going to be a tad late but the representative that was supposed to meet me had already left. When I called up asking for a possible re-book or was told I couldn’t be fit in until the next day. We are only at 10am at this point… at the very very start of the day and I’m sat outside the address ready to buy but nobody here to greet me or sell it to me… I know for a fact if I was using white gates to sell my property and potential customers were being lost due to lazy and unwilling sales representatives I’d be very annoyed and using a different letting agent for my needs. Nobody likes a letting agency that has 0 urgency for their customer spending nearly a monthly wage every month on a house. Its Like selling a car whet somebody is there to buy you ensure you make time for them. That is not what I received today I was treat like my money mattered not. My customer wasn’t needed and house viewings are scarce with white gates so there is no point

Craig Warren head of property management at whitegates lettings is a very rude man who fits in very well with the rest of the staff in that office. When it comes to having repairs done he will do his utmost best to get out of having the work carried out, he will even ignore communications from you for as long as he can hoping you will just go away, my advice to anyone wanting to rent a property from these people is don’t because they treat their tenants appallingly.
