I borrowed some keys from them to quote for a job in Leeds City Centre and although they gave me the keys for the flat they failed to give me the fob to get into the building. After finishing the actual job I attempted to return the keys via a letter box but they didn't have one causing me an unnecessary journey the following day. Basically, I wasn't overly impressed with the customer experience.
Ok, but be careful. My boyfriend and I moved in on a Saturday but they said we weren't allowed to unpack until the Monday because they said they needed to take photos of the property first. Estate agent turned up on the Monday and then left, and there was no reason why we couldn't have unpacked over the weekend. They held the last tenants deposit for professional cleaning, but it wasn't cleaned when we moved in. They then tried to hold our deposit for professional cleaning, but immediately gave up when we questioned them. Wouldn't be my first choice.
I just wanted to give in Minus. My husband booked a appointment 1.30 and reached by 1.17.The lady reached 1.45 just gave a missed call while my hubby froze near the gate she without checking left.Such a liar am sure she never came or needs a brushup in how to deal with clients. Complaining about them to there seniors wont help all clueless and sail the same boat.Just gonna make sure no one ever is troubled by there worthless service.Seriously please shut down nd relax at home if you cant do business.
Dealing with Martin & Co is completely fine. They are professional, courteous and generally nice people. The problem arises because they act as a middle man between client and landlord, you don't even get the landlord's phone number, which is understandable. I viewed a property which looked fairly smart. When I moved in however, the landlord had touched up various bits of paintwork which is an entirely different shade to the original and now looks very patchy. There was also a throw covering a giant hole in one of the couches, the other couch was fairly worn and the springs had gone meaning sitting on it was massively uncomfortable. Yet they delivered only one sofa which, again, was a completely different shade to the other sofa. It looks completely ridiculous. The landlord is quite possibly the tightest alive. If there was a bit of give and take I would of painted the property properly, but investing my own money and effort into a "furnished" property when you are delivered a couch a completely different colour to the other is simply overkill. I've given up complaining and simply going to see out my tenancy. Although this is not Martin & Co's fault directly, because of the way they are set up they simply MUST shoulder some of the blame. I cannot wait to move out and I've only been a tenant for 3 weeks. I think it's hit and miss depending on which landlord you get and your willingness to be on the phone constantly to complain and argue your point. I would like to reiterate that they do try and help you out wherever they can and the problems do lie with the landlord.
They pay their staff to do nothing. You won't get a reply for your calls or emails. Negative through out.
With the exception of the owner, the majority of the team in the Leeds branch are either on the job learning, reactive instead of proactive, or lack any sense of commercial acumen (based on my six years experience of them letting our flat). Just seem to go through the motions without offering much value - after six years of dealing with sheer incompetence / laziness at times we had had enough and there are far better agents out there that offer a higher quality service at a much lower fee. Would avoid like the plague.
