So far my experience with John Shepherd has been very positive. They are available when needed and ready to support and follow-up in case of repairs. Charlotte Ford has been my point of contact and she's always kind and respond quick to any query. For all my colleagues and friend coming to live in Birmingham, I am giving the contact and recommendation to talk with John Shepherd.

Very poor service. I resent

Very poor service. I resent the fact that I paid this branch to make this let far more complex, time consuming and costly than had I self - managed the let. Having taken legal advice on their actions, I was advised that they had let me down very badly and that they were not providing me with the correct facts allowing me to access my property or get works done. They failed to pass on my correspondence to my tenants which caused massive problems, and one member of staff even told me that their primary concern was that the tenants were happy and I was of secondary importance. The whole let appeared to be run along the lines of what was the least hassle to John Shepherd. The cost to me of them taking this approach apoeared not to matter to them. I've only given them 2 stars rather than 1 as the branch head appeared to know his stuff ( unfortunately he delegated my let to others who were less capable ) and has offered to try to talk to me about all the mistakes they made. I do feel I should warn others about the service as it certainly fell way way short of what was promised.

I don't leave reviews very often but John Shepherd West Bridgford deserve one. I am absolutely disgusted with this unregulated letting market, trying to remove deposit money for 2 small plastic cracks in a fridge freezer and saying they will need to replace both from our deposit money. Furthermore saying they will need to have it re-cleaned despite us paying £180 for two cleaners to spend 3 hours cleaning it professionally. Prior to this when we lived in the flat we had a low water pressure problem which took them over 4 months to fix, they came up with excuse after excuse before finally offering to fix it a few weeks before we moved out (only because we had to get the council involved to sort it). We then moved into another property with them where the oven had not been cleaned (see pictures attached) yet was told it was just cleaning residue. Also the dishwasher that did not work, we were originally told to try to fix it ourselves? Thirdly in our contract it makes reference to a washing machine, yet no washing machine was present and we had to spend hundreds to buy our own. I cannot believe what these agencies try to get away with, I highly doubt they would even replace the fridge and freezer for such a small crack and new tenants who will soon move in, they just want money money money! Disgusting.

Worst service, holding my deposit and not returning it, no proper communication, if you are looking to rent a property don't rent anything through them unless you want to lose your deposit

By far the worst letting agency we have ever used. How anyone has ever given them more than 1 star I have no idea. If I could give them less I would. Every time we ring we get passed from pillar to post promised phone calls back and nothing. Been going on four weeks now and when the rental contract came through it was wrong. Spoken to them again twice and it's still come through wrong twice. Absolutely diabolical service. Please AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!!!!

I rented a property, gave my notice to leave the property, the landlord approved the return of deposit after we left. And John shepherd have now kept a hold of this deposit after saying it’ll be returned. It’s been a month now and I’ll still waiting for it with no up dates from them and no contact other then when I’m chasing them for it. No answers as to what’s happened or why it’s taken so long this is ridiculous and outrageous. You was quick enough to take the money but won’t return it.
