Never use them. Rented out property through Whitegates Beeston. Rapid growth of mould all over the property within a month we moved in eventually made us to leave the property. On our contact with agency, "Greg" and his director "Julian" visited the property. They recognised the problem initially and promised to come up with a solution. Their afterwords they never came back to us and started ignoring us completely. Finally we decided to vacate the property. After our vacation, check out inspection was held in our absence by a landlord. Now we have been informed by "Karen" that they are in a process of obtaining quotes for the works required and in support attached different pictures of mould which we were complaining about from the month we shifted into the property. In short, lesson for us and anyone out there is "They will come up with any excuse to hold your deposit".
Do not rent through this agency. This agency should not have been allowed to be in a market at very first place. Extremely unprofessional staff and behaviour at Whitegates Beeston. All is good till you encounter some problem as a tenant. They do not reply to your queries and start ignoring. They will try their level best to hold your deposit for all the fabricated reasons. Decided to fight my case till the end. To get this posted, had to select atleast 1 star which if given a choice will delete it as well.
Utterly incompetent. Do not rent through this agency. Whenever something went wrong with the property, it took weeks to get fixed, we were left without hot water and heating in February for over 2 weeks, and I had to report them to Environmental Health before they fixed it. We also were left for 3 weeks without a washing machine. Despite me leaving the house in a better condition than I found it, they have withheld my deposit. They charge high admin fees, that do not reflect their input. Whitegates should come with a warning.
The guy that showed me round the property I'm now renting seemed to make up the answers to my questions - I asked specifically if we were on a normal meter or prepayment as prepayment is more expensive and we didn't want a property with prepayment set up, he told me what I wanted to hear but after moving in we found out it IS prepayed so I'm getting gouged on electricity. When signing for the house and giving final payments, the same guy forgot he needed my girlfriend's signature, forgot we were waiting for a key, and almost forgot to take payment. After moving in we noted 13 broken things in the property, only one of which has been fixed. We have been waiting a month and a half to hear back as to whether we can change our prepayment setup to a meter setup as well, despite having chased several times. They seem good enough until they have your money and you're left in the lurch. Avoid.
The property was marketed promptly with a competitive price for a high street estate agent however once the instruction was passed to the sales manager our experience with Whitegate plummeted. The sales manager sent people round without telling us, required frequent chasing and refused to meet to discuss offers face to face. Disgustingly after a sale was agreed the sales manager also made the calculated decision to lie to bother vendor and purchaser by saying the other party were using Whitegate's recommended conveyancer (stay away from them, they are awful and a formal complaint is ongoing with Legal Ombudsman) in order to get us both to instruct them and receive a £300 referral fee. Unfortunately the 'Del Boy' tactics of this rogue member of staff have ruined our home move and I suggest you stay clear of this company whilst he is still employed.
