Hi Fletcher I’m sorry you feel that you were charged unfairly. Firstly it was your landlord’s that withheld your deposit (we did not hold your deposit. Secondly you have highlighted the reason why you were penalised “you only stayed in the property for 8 months” you broke your contract so you are liable for the landlords costs. Thirdly the property was strewn with your own personal items that were left knowingly by yourselves and failed to return sets of keys meaning locks had to be changed. It’s also worth pointing out that we didn’t charge you for the void period between you moving out and the new tenants in (which the landlord could have done ) This would have added a further considerable amount. I suggest respectfully, that in future when you sign a contract you honour it and when you leave a property you leave it clean, clear and return a full set of key's.
