"We signed up to Parkers to..."

We signed up to Parkers to sell our property after reading the reviews on this website. We were happy with all the initial organisation, however the pictures they took of the property were below average and not high quality and we ended up providing them with ones we took. I asked them to keep us informed with the statistics of how many on-line viewings we'd had, which I had to then chase them for each week. We've had 3 (apparent) viewings in the last 11 weeks and we have now moved to a new estate agent. I say apparent as I'm not even convinced they had people in when they say they did as nothing looked touched or moved and the feedback they gave (which I had to chase again) was always the same. Parkers just didn't seem bothered about selling our 1 bedroom flat - maybe it was below them?! I personally wouldn't recommend the Reading Branch, they were just too laid back and not pro-active enough!

Hi gemma We have kept you updated since you have been on the market with us and have given you the statistics on how many website hits your property had received. The property went on to the market at nearly £9,000 more than what we had valued the property at as you had higher valuations from other estate agents. We advised you to drop the price as we were not receiving interest at the price you requested to market at, which you then agreed at a later date. With regards to the feedback, yes it was the same from the applicants, they felt it was too much money for its size. When we complete viewings we refrain from moving your personal items out of courtesy unless we feel the property looks untidy. From our branch, we deal with all sectors of the market. We treat each property and it's vendors on an equal basis whatever the price or the size. if you would like to contact me to discuss this further please call me on 01189575455 Regards Damien Glowacki Director

The Burghfield Common branch

The Burghfield Common branch of Parkers ignore email enquiries sent to them. Not very professional!

This is the most unprofessional lettings agency I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. I should have known things were awry when they referred me to their sister branch to sign the contract as they didn't have a lettings agent then. The property was not cleaned before my moving in. That was the first red flag that stood out to us. Once I needed to have a leak in the kitchen sink repaired but it never happened despite my notifying Parkers Burghfield Common multiple times. They told me that they would do quarterly property inspections (which is excessive to begin with) and then said to me that they'd visit every two months. If anything, this whole experience has been the motivation I needed to keep building the deposit for my first home. Guess who I won't be buying my first home through?

poor communication between sellers and buyers, kept out of the loop and lost out on property, not good service here. Lost out on house and seller lost out on 5% higher bid because of it.

Sorry you feel this way. We had numerous offers on this property and the vendor decided to go with another offer. The team at Burghfield Common.

I added a review on Parkers website last week because I was not happy with the service I recieved but I have now found out that thier website was down which led to me not being contacted. I have now had a visit from a young man from Parkers who explained the situation. The fact that this young man took the trouble to come to see me in person shows that the situation was out of thier hands and now I am more than happy to withdraw my original review and give them a five star rating. "This was by far the worst..."

This was by far the worst estate agents we had to deal with. We were under pressure to rend a house unfortunately and didn't have time to investigate them properly. The Theale staff in particular are extremely unpleasant (once you have signed the contract). They do not respect their contract clauses and would do all they can to steal money from your deposit at the end of the tenancy. They do 3 month inspections which are a total harassment and waste of time. At the end of our tenancy they insisted we clean the property and carpets professionally yet we have always taken great care of the property. We called in professional cleaners and provided receipts to the agency but they came back saying we haven't used professional cleaners and that they property was domestically cleaned, despite the reference from a reputable cleaning company! This has resulted in them "stealing" our money in order to "clean the property again" so we lost 50% of our deposit in the end. They really are a terrible agency and I would strongly recommend against using them
