The staff at Northwood should be cloned and replicated in all estate agents. They are always super friendly, helpful, efficient and supportive. Sometimes when you buy or sell a house, everything goes swimmingly and estate agents do not get a chance to shine. In this case, Northwoods in general, and Georgina in particular, had plenty of opportunities to shine. Obstacle after obstacle prevented the smooth transition for the house sale. Each one met with polite, enthusiastic and highly effective responses from Northwoods. We decided on Northwoods by contacting all the estate agents in Carlisle with a series of questions about selling a house, with a link to an identical property to the one we were selling. Only half responded, 2 suggested I called them up to discuss it, 2 said I needed to arrange a valuation and 3 actually answered my questions. Even then, Northwoods shone. Gordon didn’t come in with the highest valuation but it was honest and his supporting comments made sense. He was thorough, prompt, and fair - descriptions that applied throughout the whole process. Northwoods stood out a mile. Feel free to replicate the process….or save yourself some time and just contact Northwoods. They are easily the best. The house was put on the market the day before lockdown was announced. Despite this, I received a call saying there was a viewing the following week. They didn’t wish to progress but in a bid to support sellers during a very (VERY!) difficult time, Georgina said they were going to do a video of the house to promote the property and so people could prepare for when lockdown ended. As times were particularly difficult, they didn’t charge for the service. As spring turned into summer Georgina would tell us when the grass needed cutting, arranged for it to be done and sent the invoice to the solicitor. She also offered to arrange for the property to be decorated for us if we wanted. We decided to leave it for the buyer to put their own print on it, but it was great to know whatever needed doing, Georgina could sort it out. She is a one-woman positivity dynamo. Nothing was too much trouble. When we got a buyer, we realised the boiler hadn’t been serviced. Of course, Georgina arranged it for us and so it was one less thing for us to have to do and it meant the boiler could be used when our buyer moved in. When we got a buyer, Georgina remained in regular contact ensuring that everything that needed to be done, was done. When a solicitor posted the contract to the wrong address, she sorted it out within 3 working hours. She then hand-delivered it to the solicitor to ensure there were no further delays. I felt I really got to know Georgina and that we were on the same page trying to sell the house, as there was an honest dialogue throughout. I can’t share most of the details, but rest assured, Georgina dealt with professionalism and skill in the most challenging of circumstances.
