With the greatest emphasis, I encourage everyone to avoid these agents. After moving into the property we quickly discovered that the boiler was broke (no hot water or heating). Nicholas Humphrey’s were promptly informed and I expected the matter resolved. No. It took 8 months for them to replace the boiler, while we suffered through the cold of winter. The property was also full of mould, like other reviews mention, which the agent would not address. The drain got blocked at one point where the washing machine was backing into the sink and they never attended to this. Our front door was broken into, and this took then 6 months to “fix”, which to them meant painting over the cracks. It was by this time I was not surprised to find the house infested with mice and at one time 100’s of flies. I was less surprised when Kevin and the staff gave us false promises. To this day, the mice still roam the house. The practices of Nicholas Humphrey’s became so inhumane and illegal that I contacted the council and they involved environmental health. Only at this time did some (very minor) improvements occur. During my tenancy, Kevin and the staff at Nicholas Humphrey’s refused to tell me who the landlord was. This is illegal. I have since found out, by council involvement, that it is BBHP Ltd. This company is owned by Nicholas Humphrey’s and they are using different names to avoid responsibility and exploit students. Having moved out of the property, BBHP Ltd. have sent us an invoice for exceeding bills. This is completely unethical considering that we had no heating or hot water for 8 months. I strongly advise all people, student or otherwise, to avoid these estate agents in the hope that they will better their practices.
