Unprofessional, patronising and presumptuous. We spoke to a young man sounding like he was in his late 20s/30s. My mum had phoned to book a viewing for a potential house. We were asked about our income, savings etc which is normal. We then informed the man that any shortages in our finances wouldn't be an issue (we were about £10k short). We said that if the viewing went well and we were certain on the property, the shortage would be easy to find for us. We have means to complete the amount as it's not massive and would not be deliberately viewing a house that was out of our budget. We were then told 'not to waste time' and that we had to 'prove our income' before we were allowed to even see the house. We had to send 'evidence' to him proving that we could afford it. How disgustingly rude. We hadn't even SEEN the house. Why would we go through the trouble of proving this to you when we may not even like the property. Even though we had a mortgage approved, deposit ready, he refused to book a viewing for us. He implied that we were not fit enough to afford the property. He instead said 'I will forward your info to my client'. At this point, we were no longer interested.
