Property not appropriately cleaned and refurnished for when the tenancy starts, mouldy and broken blinds, broken extractor fan and shower hose base loose in ensuite, boiler constantly breaking down due to it being so old and not properly maintained, radiator not fixed appropriately to the wall in hallway. Shower hose, radiator, extractor fan and boiler issues eventually fixed after repeatedly phoning the office and leaving emails with the property management team. vinyl flooring poorly laid in bathroom and ensuite (Apparent Landlords response 'If it's not water damage then it won't need refitting') Main bedroom carpet smelly and not cleaned (replaced at my own cost of £215). Painted property areas throughout apart from second bedroom walls and lounge at my own expense, hallway skirting boards and most of the doors painted also. Hole in wall at the start of entrance hallway, polyfilla and painted over by myself. Serious mould problem in main bedroom, again at my own cost I cleaned the mould and repainted with specialist paint, all along back wall and inside the fitted wardrobes of the main and second bedroom. High humidity issue confirmed in flat by contractor so the landlord assigned someone from the property management team (Paula Heggarty) to buy a humidifier and again I ended up paying for one at the cost of £150. Ensuite shower door rails grimy and tile grout filthy, again at my own expense I brought a steam cleaner and cleaned the affected areas as best as I could. At one point I stupidly showed an interest in buying the property as it was currently on the market, cut a long story short my partner phoned up one day regarding an update and was informed by Adam Sambell that he never said to me that we could buy the property even though I spoke to him personally about it and sent over a mortgage in principle at his request. (Blunt I know but I have to be honest here) Another issue is simple communication failure, some of the staff members couldn't even pass on a cold let alone pass a message onto a person you are seeking when they're out of the office. The property management team either respond with 'i'll let the landlord know' or ignore you all together. Upon reaching one of the best moments of my life which was to finally buy my own home and make them aware of the termination notice I was told I would receive instructions in regards to vacating the property (None received) After paying the remaining rent and other bills I had to constantly chase my deposit which was deducted due to apparent dirty skirting boards, a grimy shower (which I previously attempted to clean) and spots of mould in the 2nd bedroom and painting costs! I managed to get most of it back but I had to constantly ask for updates and the worst thing about all of this is that another tenant will suffer like myself and my partner did for two and a half years. I hope this review along with all the others prompts an action of changes within the Gloucester branch as nobody deserves to go through what myself and my partner endured as hardworking tenants who kept and improved the place in some areas and last but not least always paid our rent.
