My and my friend were renting a flat and after two years decided to end the tenancy contract. We provided the professional cleaning as per contract and left the house in really good condition (this is confirmed by the fact the house is been rented again after a few days we left - less then a month). After been chasing the agency several times we received the deposit back after 3 months (via a dispite)!!! The agency told me they were unable to contact the landlord, which sounds strange to me as they managed to sign another contract for the property. I have investigated myself via the deposition protection scheme on the government website and I contacted the TDS customers service, which both stated that the deposit it should be released in 10 days. Furthermore, yesterday I have been contacted by a property manager ACCUSING us that we did not pay the last 12 days of rent and asking for a proof: we had to sent a bank statement! Is that possible that they realised we did not pay after 3 months? The manager told me she tryed to contact myself and my housemate for 3 months and we NEVER reply to their phone calls: strange as we contact them for 3 months for the deposit and we sent many e-mails we no reply!!! I already sent an e-mail to the customer service and they told me they were going to investigate but so far I did not received a feedback yet! I have been renting houses with other professional agencies and I never been treated this way. I discussed this with other people dealing with Chancellors in Oxford and they have been having really bad experiences regarding the end of tenancy and the return of deposit. NOT RACCOMENDED!
