Prior to purchasing our property through Elliot Lee, we had already had 2 failed purchases on the day of exchange, both after a 5 month wait over the course of 2 years. (The second purchase was worse as we had made the decision to sell our property to get out of being in a chain, as the housing market was crazy at the time, but unfortunately greedy sellers and unscrupulous estate agents touting for business meant that we lost out a second time.)To say that we were fed up with sellers and the U.K. system was an under statement, and having been burnt twice, we entered this purchase with our eyes wide open, but willing to give Elliot Lee a chance. (The previous 2 estate agents that we dealt with in the area were absolutely shocking to say the least, with one far worse than the other, but sadly it's understandable why estate agents have the terrible reputation that they do.) After having our offer accepted by the vendor, we were handed over to Shelley Tristram, the Case Progressor. After explaining a little of our background experience to her, she went out of her way to assure us that she would do all that she could to ensure that we would be successful the third time around. Shelley was fantastic throughout, ensuring that she kept us up to date of progress. She definitely made the experience a whole lot more pleasant, and it really goes to show when estate agents employ people that actually want to help their customers, as some staff we have spoken to at other agents are just plainly, rude and dismissive. Shelley was an explemplarary Case Progressive, and even rectifying things when there had been mistakes and she kept true to her word in ensuring that she would see us through to completion. And it also greatly helped that the vendor was genuine and did not play any games, unlike others, who when they do so, make an already difficult process worse.
