We were delighted to read your family member was asked to remove their shoes before entering the new home, we do this (whatever the new floor covering) to ensure the flooring remains unmarked and undented from heels. Our teams liaise with developers on all aspects of a build, the developer provides the floor plans for their development and chooses the final fixtures and fittings. We understand your family member has always viewed this property in it's finished condition, with the exception of final snagging, and the internal layout had not changed on any viewing, we are sorry that your family member feels there was a change. If any buyer is unhappy at a final viewing (pre-exchange), they have the choice to withdraw from a sale. The developer is also responsible for placement and fitting of any extra items, in this case curtains and blinds. We understand these are made-to-measure, hand-picked items, which will, of course, have a longer lead time, and were ordered post the simultaneous exchange and completion. We can only apologise that your family member is feeling upset with the timing of installation and hope they will be delighted when all customised items are installed.
