Charming high street agent with superb local area knowledge

I first contacted Dawsons on Walter Road by telephone and discussed my house move dream. Alison was quick to ascertain the necessities from me e.g. how much my new house will be, will a chain be involved, how much I can borrow and as a result the amount that I need to sell my house for to afford to make the move and finally how long until I am ready to move out of the property. A day or two later and Alison came round to the property and conducted a very thorough valuation. Everything I had previously thought that should be included in the selling brochure was asked & noted, as well as selling points on the house that I had missed! Whilst taking marketing photos, Alison made effort to ensure they were going to come out as professional as possible to capture my home in its best light. This included the relocation of objects, the adjustment of curtains, plumping of cushions etc. After a couple of days my house was live on as popular online selling platforms as well as on the high street and on the same day I was called to agree times for viewings. I felt confidence in my house selling due what was clearly good marketing of the property. Dawsons were willing to work around me to arrange viewings at appropriate times due to the fact I was working from home and needed the peace and quiet during heightened periods of work activity. One thing that stood out for me was the speed of the offer agreement. After only 5 days of marketing the house the first offer came in and I was immediately telephoned. Alison then proceeded to negotiate with the potential buyer on my behalf to secure the amount that I needed to buy my dream home and I was incredibly pleased with the amount that was agreed. The after sales service was okay but my relatively small chain did seem to cause more hassle than it should have but this was mostly a fault on a lack of communication between solicitors and communication from my buyer. Dawsons were quick to chase each side for updates on my request but certain things were missed e.g. my buyers rental notice and their upcoming long term holiday but I also appreciate that it is not always possible to obtain this key information from potential buyers if they are not very forthcoming and in this instance very shy. Overall I have had a great experience with Dawsons and I would highly recommend anyone to avoid the new wave of online agents and walk through the door to a hassle free service owing to highly knowledgeable and dedicated staff with years of experience in the field, all provided at a competitive market fee with no hidden extras to report.
