I came across a property listed on Rightmove and promptly enquired about it. I received an email from Arjan, who asked me a few questions, which I quickly responded to. However, after mentioning that I am currently not working due to a disability and receive housing benefits, my emails were completely ignored. I later noticed the flat in question had been reduced in price, so I emailed Arjan again, expressing my strong interest in viewing the property. I also asked if I was being rejected due to receiving housing benefits, which would be discriminatory and unlawful. Unfortunately, I was ignored yet again. What’s frustrating is that I was fully able to afford the higher rent, but they would rather reduce the rent and leave the property empty than consider me as a tenant simply because I am not currently working. This experience has left me feeling disheartened and unfairly treated, especially as discriminating against someone for being on housing benefits is illegal. I would not recommend this estate agency, as they seem to lack professionalism, responsiveness, and an understanding of equal opportunity practices. Edited to answer owners response. My name isn’t Scarlett and I don’t have any pets which I clearly stated in my ignored emails
