Ignoring important emails for months, being rude on the phone... It's almost impossible to put how appalled I am at Ellis & Co (and Kier Hawkins in particular) into words. I have had some brilliant experiences of renting in London, and this one stands out as a really terrible experience in comparison. One email which I sent -to confirm if my deposit was protected or not- was ignored for four months. They split duties of care with the landlord in a manner which is neither explained nor explicable, and don't deem it worthy of their time to let you know if the things you've emailed about are actually the landlord's responsibility. I would avoid Ellis and & co at all costs.

Have to echo other people's comments on here and say that I have found Ashley to be incredibly rude and aggressive. After my daughter and her roommates were having issues in getting work carried out and constantly being talked down to or not responded to I tried to step in. I phoned Ashley and tried to go through some of the issues (as one of the guarantors) , he talked over me, became aggressive and was incredibly obnoxious. The place is being rented by students and as such is no palace but that doesn't give him the right to talk to clients the way he does. When I tried to reason with him he refused to speak to me. We shall definitely be taking this further not least because there are outstanding issues, but in the meantime I would suggest avoid, avoid, avoid!!!
