I have recently purchased my home through Country Properties. The staff were so helpful and friendly. Irma identified a suitable property for me very quickly after speaking to me and she found the ideal new home perfect for me. The staff were not too pushy and were very helpful when things were not always straightforward. It was a pleasure doing business with them. Thanks.

Absolutely Shocking Service especially from Sophie who calls herself a Director. Taking two holding deposits for the same property and getting her staff to lie about the landlord being on Holiday. She told me she sent me an email regarding the landlords decision but nothing again blaming Sharon this time and this was long after the 7 Days. Went to the ombudsman but showing they not a member. Letting Agents are poor these days, this one shocking. My advice don’t deal with these people especially if she’s called Sophie

Space doesn't permit the full detail, but as a summary of the key points: - Despite being initially the most enthuasistic of the all the agents I had valuations from, they were a bit slower than initially pledged to launch the property online. Enthusiasm for (and evidence of) marketing activity was then distinctly lacking after the first couple of weeks. And it only re-appeared in the last few weeks, as soon as I put them on notice that I was moving to another agent. - Their 'for sale' board was erected on a neighbouring property. It took over a week of chasing them to get them to move this. They then removed it entirely and it never returned (no reason ever given, despite my questions) despite both the inclusion of one and the specific positioning requirement for it appearing in our written agreement. - Often ignored my requests to contact me only by email due to the nature of my day job. Often, emails - if sent - would give no useful detail and just asked me to call them. Somewhat evasive on the phone to direct questions about what specifically they're doing marketing-wise (viewings had dried up and I had been wordlessly removed from their shop window display)...."heeeeey, we're doing all we can! [rapid change of subject]" was a favourite of one agent there. - Consistently failed to abide by a verbal and written request to ensure the closure of an inner door within the property after viewings - in fact, on every single viewing they conducted. After one viewing, they also left the back door unlocked. - Added me to their marketing spam email list despite a specific instruction given to them at the outset not to. A bit concerning on the GDPR front - and somewhat futile as I had already bought somewhere by that stage. - In the a later stages, one of their agents flagged the pricing as not helping the sale....despite the pricing having been set by their own colleague. This agent also went on to suggest the location and condition of the property as stumbling blocks......despite the property being in the exact same location and of the same age and condition as it was when their colleague enthusiastically signed up as my selling agent. So only three months before, Country Properties didn't seem to think these factors were going to be a problem at all. Such was their confidence in fact, that a rather overambitious initial price was set that I myself had to ask them to lower a bit before launching. - They asked more than once for me to agree to accept a viewing *after* their period of instruction had ended - by which time I was (as they were aware) instructing a different agency, which seemed somewhat disrespectful to the new agency. - Although I didn't have to in the end (as one such appointment was reportedly angrily cancelled by the viewers who couldn't find the property with the instructions given by the agency - and the lack of 'for sale' board outside as a clue) I was asked on at least one occasion to conduct a viewing myself, due to them not having available staff. I wonder if they would have discounted their fee if *I'd* managed to sell it for them that day... There's more. I could go on..... Unwilling to accept the disappointing offers they finally mustered some effort to find me in that last week or so, I moved immediately after my three month agreement expired with them over to another local agency who re-launched me a month after I had left Country Properties behind. The new agency happily abided by all my contact preferences, and got me *two* good offers....both at asking price - a good bit higher than Country Properties' best shot).....and they managed this within the first 11 days of going on the market. Maybe they've had a recent shake up of people and practices there since my time with them but personally, I would still suggest being careful about what Country Properties tell you that they will and won't do (even in writing)....to consider the veracity of the viewings feedback they give you....and to consider other agencies - who may be a bit pricier but are much less disappointing.NegativeQuality, Professionalism

Great when trying to sell your house but the after sales lady called val was horrendous. Spoke down to me and was blantly rude. I was so tempted to cancel using them as an agent but needed the sale and was tied to them. Apparently the staff all know what she is like.
