We're not surprised your ratings are low after using your branch. Highly disappointed at the lack of details and vague comments from staff, angry at the lack of communication from yourselves. Glad we didn't end up with you for our rental projects, this branch isn't a patch on other branches of Martins who we have and currently use. After reading more reviews, this clearly isn't a singlular issue either.

Do not use! Terrible customer service skills. Lots of 1 star reviews on here! As a buyer, they will drop and blank you without any reason! Keely esp. but speaks volumes on the whole outfit. Many many emails and phone calls get ignored, and just a huge waste of time!

All I can say is avoid at all costs rude unprofessional and like to bully tenets when you stand up for yourself if you want want to rent please avoid these

Where do I start!!! I will give the short version. I called up a couple of days ago to book a viewing on a property (92 High Street, Scotter). I was asked the question do I have a property I am selling to which I answered yes! I was then asked is it on the market? I explained not at this precise moment to which they responded then you can’t view this property! I explained to the young lady that I have Martin & Co in my local area ( this review is no reflection on the Tamworth branch as they are brilliant) coming out to take images etc… in the next week and it will then be going on the market if I like the property I wish to view! I explained I would be relocating from the midlands and wanted to be sure. I also explained that the last 3 properties sold in my area ALL sold in less than 48 hours. I was then told she needs to speak to her manager as this is their policy as she would call me back! I waited but no return call so, I called back but she wasn’t available but a message was taken by the letting team! Still no call so I called again and this time the accounts team answered as sales were not available and a message was taken! Guess what no call back! Eventually I got a through to the sales team and…… she said my manager said no! I explained that you haven’t asked me any further questions about my financial position and I can assure you I am in a position to offer if I like the property! She then went quiet for around 2 minutes and said I have spoken to my manager and he said the vendor doesn’t want you viewing it!!! WOW She said if you’re not happy speak to my manager! I said that would be lovely could you put him on the phone……. Apparently Alex will ring me back!! I’m not going to hold my breath! This review is only about the Gainsborough Martin & Co not any of the others! If you are selling your property with this branch please be aware that they are a bunch of amateurs that really will not represent you well at all! As a buyer I have decided although I do want to move to the area I would not buy a property from this branch. Also just an FYI as I wasn’t aware that Martin & Co are a franchise so all owned by different people.

Absolutely dreadful agency to deal with if you are a landlord. No consistency with the staff you deal with, mixed communications….when they actually bother to respond to emails!! And as for their finance department, well that’s just beyond words! I have two properties under their so called ‘management’ and I have pulled the plug. Total waste of money! Can’t wait to get away from them! Management agencies are supposed to take some of the stress out of being a landlord. Unfortunately, Martin & Co (Gainsborough Branch) do the opposite. Avoid at all costs!!!!! ** Update** I have now officially parted company with this agency. Reading some of the other reviews it seems I am not the only disappointed landlord! Twenty years of being a landlord both in the UK and abroad I can without doubt say they are the most unprofessional letting agency I have ever dealt with. Don’t waste your money engaging them to manage your property if you are a landlord. They really don’t have a clue!

Dreadful customer service and communication from both sales team and lettings team. It's as if they are not interested in making a sale. I emailed and called multiple times in the last 2 weeks, spoke to 3 different people about viewing few properties but none of them ever got back to me - each time taking my contact details all over again and assuring me they'll get back to me. Unorganised and disinterested, avoid!

I agree with the other terrible reviews. Have been involved with property for years and now I’m needing a rental in their area for a while these people are shocking. Purposely only upload one photo of the properties so when you enquire they can harvest your data. Definitely the type of agent that works for slum landlords, as the reviews confirm. Luckily other agents in the area have been an absolute pleasure to deal with.

Useless and incompetent

Had a viewing booked at 10:30 and got there 10:20 abit earlier as you do. Made me wait 40 minutes and still no agent arrived after calling the office numerous time and then informing me the agent will be there 5 minutes each time. The last phone call the agent in the office Sam didn’t sound bothered that I cancelled the appointment and no apology. I wasted 40 minutes of my day waiting outside the property in the cold. Really bad customer care won’t ever be using them again dodged a bullet first time. Should’ve read the reviews prior to contacting them seems like a communications a big issue and time keeping. They need better management and staff by looks of it.
