I have entrusted my property with Northwood for around 6 years now and although initially I was happy with the service, policies in the business have changed and has make them less flexible especially when it comes to paying for maintenance in my property. Communication is key in any business and I feel Northwood are failing. They are quick to communicate when money is needed but not so quick to address concerns that are highlighted if it has a financial impact on them. I hope they improve soon

Please do not rent your property with Northwood West Derby. I made the huge mistake of allowing Northwood to charge me £260 per month for a very poor service. They've made multiple mistakes throughout which has caused me great deal of stress and anxiety over the past couple of months. First of all they published my new personal address on the advertisement of my rental property online for all to see. A complete breach of GDPR but according to staff this was a "minor blip". I was made to feel like a liar about this at first after they quickly removed it but thankfully I had screenshots for evidence. They put "smokers considered" on my advertisement which definitely wasn't approved by myself. They also didn't blare out requested areas of my property on marketing photos (which was eventually corrected) but I shouldn't have had to ask twice. I asked about my rights to pull out of the contract after losing confidence in their ability at the early stages, but I felt pressured and bullied with staff stating "I had signed over my property to them for 12 months" Joanne from sales was left in charge to deal with my complaint, apologising and assured me no more mistakes would happen after this. Over 2 months to find a tenant for my property with very little communication or updates to myself. I had to constantly chase for updates and information. They asked to place my property in the branch window which I gladly accepted for it to only be added in the window once the property was Let which makes no sense given it took them so long to tenant my property. They reduced the asking price of my property without any consent or notification. They kept requesting for gas safety certificates after telling them multiple times the property was all electric. Communication is very poor. They blamed a staff turnaround on this. I have dealt with nearly the whole office at someone point during the past couple of months with no main port of contact. Miscommunication between staff members is a very common occurance usually blaming each other when things go wrong. Once my property was finally tenanted I had to chase for a copy of the tenancy agreement which wasn't provided. I received an email from Northwood stating "The ongoing service we provide for you is for rent collection only, therefore you will be the tenant’s first point of contact in regard to any future maintenance problems" I rang up and stated my concerns with this email as I'd signed up for a guaranteed rent fully managed service and was being charged 24% fees (normal managed service is 10%) to prevent the stresses of being a landlord to only be fobbed off and told nobody was there to talk with me. No manager or franchise owner could find time to contact me and appear to not have discovered the incredible invention of the mobile phone. I felt forced to drive directly to branch to raise my concerns face to face desperately trying to seek some clarity as I had just been left to worry. I was eventually told that they again had made mistakes. I asked for the franchise Owner Shaun to contact me directly to have a chat for it to be refused and was told I needed to speak to the lettings manager Ruth who is rarely available and wouldnt be able to contact me for a further 48 hours which would total 72 hours for a response during normal working week days. "take your money and run" comes to mind. If you're interested in renting your property then go and see Nicky Ford in Sutton Kersh just across the road in West Derby Village who actually takes the time to get to know you and your property. Displaying the perfect balance of professionalism and friendliness. I have given Northwood many weeks to change my initial negative perception of them and that's why I perceived from publishing a review earlier. I am fully aware nobody is perfect and mistakes can happen but this is an embarrassment. I have been far to lineant with their shoddy practice and I will not be renewing any contracts in future or recommending their poor services to my many family and friends with property portfolios.
Have multiple workers dealing with application and no of them seem to know what’s going on, didn’t reply to emails and then told us they were going with someone else after 3 weeks
My niece has been trying to rent a property through this company and my husband was going to be her guarantor. After jumping through all of their hoops - including providing a copy of the Land Registry document for our own property in Hull on top of his proof of wages, ID and employer's contact details for their reference, they let the property to someone else without even letting my niece know they're was anyone else interested in the property. She's now going to be homeless until she finds another property. Rest assured, it won't be through these clowns.
Worst experience I’ve ever had with an estate agents, zero communication. Nobody seems to know what they are talking about and can’t answer straight forward questions. Staff need more training
