As a final year students, when renting with fit property we wanted somewhere hassle free, it seemed we signed up to the opposite of this. There were problems even before we moved into the property those being that we turned up to get the keys to be told that we had to have made an appointment to do so. Once we finally had the keys we got to the property to find that they had given us the keys to another property. From then on it was one problem after the next with the boiler breaking, rat problems, doors getting jammed etc and all of which took fit property an eternity to sort out if at all because of their lack of care for anything but our money in their bank. To top it all off we were asked to move down the street a few days before the end of our tenancy so they were able to start work on the house. We then found we came back a couple of days before the end of the tenancy to find that they had decided to start knocking down parts of th house meaning that some tenants things were destroyed which they chose not to replace. So as well as atempting to sort out all these problems we should not have to have been doing we had the stress of final year at uni. This was by far the worst year of uni we had and would strongly recommend not to go with them unless you like the sound of having to deal with a million and one problems.
After been forced to move into a house that was not yet finished, fit properties has been an ever growing annoyance in our daily lives for almost a year. Where a competent letting agency would have had our problem sorted almost instantly, fit properties has dragged out our simple problem for almost a year; and 2 months after our tenancy has ended we are still no nearer to a conclusion. A he said she said situation showing the complete lack of communication between the landlord and letting agency resulted with us bearing the brunt of the fallout and receiving different contrasting sets of information from both parties, at one point we was told that they were no longer dealing with our problem and it was up to the landlord, essentially disregarding off one of their main duties as a letting agency. When fit properties require something from you, you can damn well make sure you will be receiving e-mails every day and the occasional phone call but when the tables have turned it is almost impossible to get a reply and once you do it is nothing but pointless words that get you nowhere. Fit properties is unprofessional, unorganised and quite simply show a complete lack of care in what they do, I will never use them again and I urge others not too unless you would like extra added stress for the foreseeable future.
I haven't used this agent myself but I have previously lived next to a property that they were about to be letting out and during the renovation we had multiple problems with the builders and workers next door, including sexual harassment, threats of violence and homophobic behaviour. When we spoke to fit properties all they seemed to want to do was pass the blame and responsibility on to someone else. They insisted it was nothing to do with them as they weren't yet letting the property out and couldn't help.
