Good letting agent staff helpful
Martin & Co sold my flat good price good service
I have used the Stirling office of Martin & Co both as a tenant and as a landlord. I have been impressed by their professionalism and helpfulness in both roles.
Very professional and good to deal with and certainly take the stress away from the landlord.
When I first dealt with Martin & Co they were a breath of fresh air compared to the other letting agents in the area. They were professional in the advertising of the property, and did a good job of setting up a tenancy agreement. There things seems to come to a halt. It was a couple of months before tenants moved in, and in that time it seemed they lost interest in providing a service. There were things that I had to deal with with the tenant that should have been agreed up front. They were casual to the point of negligent in getting meter readings and arranging the handover to the tenant. When I complained I was met by a barrage of excuses and self justifications, rather than dealing with the issues. So overall, good in parts, but they could brush up a lot on attention to detail.
I bought a house in Callander last year that was being sold by Martin and Co. The experience from beginning to end was on the whole fairly good with one serious misgiving and another inconvenience. Viewing the property...the service was very good...I viewed twice and on both occasions the assistants were helpful, courteous and knowledgeable about the property. Making the offers(several before acceptance) was handled very well by someone in the office who was speaking to the client and calling me back promptly. So for the 2 aspects above I was very pleased with the service offered. I was less than satisfied with the following...... Firstly, after purchase I asked if It was possible to visit the property once more so I could take measurements in order that I could be making preparations prior to entry. I emailed and called numerous times leaving messages for the manager....my calls remained ignored. Finally after a very strong email I received a call from a junior member of staff who apologised and did offer help.....weeks had gone by and by that time it was too late. I was extremely disappointed by this lack of follow up which seemed to indicate that when a sale was complete interest diminished??!! Secondly there were keys missing to the property and there was no access to the outside from the rear of the property or to the garage. Despite reassurances that the keys would be available they never were which meant after entry I had to have a locksmith deal with the issue.....perhaps indicating that once sold interest was reduced by the selling agent?? Overall.....some aspects of the service would rate very good and others poor meaning my overall rating would be fair/good.
