They basically did not check properly Helford cottage and this in turn has created a very sensitive problem between the students living there and local residents.

Hi Neil, I have gone through our records and can confirm management visits to the property were carried out on the 14th Jul 20, 5th Nov, 8th Feb, 27th May and a final inspection on the 29th June 21. Due to COVID restrictions 2 of these visits were carried out virtually but I am afraid I don't see that any additional visits from us would prevent a neighborhood dispute. Sadly, not all neighbours get on and I sympathise if this was your experience with these tenants. That said, if they were behaving in an anti-social manner I advise you contact either the police or the council.

Moved out of a rental property on 31st July. Was promised once the property was checked that I would receive my deposit back. Contacted them at the beginning of September to find out what was happening, was told the landlord was not replying to emails or calls to I couldn't receive my deposit. I phoned the landlord myself and he confirmed that there were no issues and he was happy to release my deposit and Martin & Co had made no attempt to contact him. Visited Martin & Co again today to chase the deposit, they are now claiming the LANDLADY is not responding to emails, even though the flat was sold while I was tenant, this landlady no longer owns the property. I'm very frustrated and stressed with these on going issues. Really disappointed in Martin & Co as I received a good service while in the property. I've been told my deposit cannot be released. Writing a review was the last thing I wanted to do.NegativeProfessionalism

Think this used to rainbow, they were bloody awful but the experience Iv had with Falmouth Martin and co was horrendous. Don’t answer their phones or emails, passive aggressive and unprofessional, public should be warned

Lying and miserable people. They have no character or compassion for people. They forcibly steal people's money by any means. People work for money and they steal from offices Do they sleep well at night?

Avoid at all costs. As a parent with 3 children in student rental accommodation in various parts of the UK I have a great deal of experience with letting agents. These are the worst I have ever come across - and that is saying something.

Rented through rainbow property (now Martin and co) for 18 months. Usually cordial and helpful but the check out process was a nightmare. They will make deductions, unfairly, take a very long time to process this stuff and with the constant back and forth, they wear you down to either a legal dispute or mental exhaustion. Beware

I am sorry you feel that the checkout was awful. We did contact you immediately after you gave notice with clear vacating instructions and communicated with you regularly with proposed deductions from your deposit, passing on all invoices to you as requested. The team here have had training from the deposit protection scheme (DPS) where your deposit was held. It was explained to you that you could dispute any claim directly with the DPS should you not agree with our findings. At no point was a legal dispute ever mentioned as the DPS is there to ensure deposit disputes are adjudicated fairly.

I have had a dreadful experience with this agency. Alongside not responding to emails or returning phones calls, they have no concern for Tennants health and well-being. The final result being my 3 month old baby being rushed to hospital in an ambulance with breathing issues due to an ongoing rising damp issue that they did nothing about despite multiple emails about our rapidly deteriorating health. We would have moved out earlier in our contract but this was not put forward as an option leaving us with no choice but to remain in contract despite these issues.

I am sorry to read of your experience Alicia. I have gone back through all correspondence though and you have been to replied to on all communications. We have tried to help wherever possible and have passed on your concerns to the landlord, requesting work where necessary and fitting a positive air pressure ventilation system to reduce condensation. I can see no record of you requesting an early release from the tenancy. It is our policy to pass on any requests to terminate tenancies whenever asked. If you do feel that we could have done anything more then please contact me jon.sampson@martinco.com to register your complaint. We are members of the Property Ombudsman Scheme who can also be contacted should you not be happy with my response.
