Dunno never been there

Whitegates came to value my mother's house. The woman who came didn't seem particularly interested and my mother wasn't impressed by her general attitude. We had two other local agents come out as well. Thank goodness we did. Whitegates valued the house as £105,000. The other two said we might get £200,000. Whitegates called me and I queried the low valuation but the woman I spoke to said that the other agents had grossly over-estimated the value and she stuck to her original figure of £105,000. We chose one of the other two and the property was really popular: we had about ten offers, all over £200,000 and eventually sold it for £215,000. I'm really glad we didn't listen to Whitegates - I wouldn't have any faith in them at all after our experiences.

A warning to anyone using this company. We were told we could view a property and then informed that it had not yet been cleaned. We were informed we would be called when the property had been cleaned ready for viewing, this never occurred. When viewing the property there was mould all over the bathroom, a fire hazard in the kitchen with a plug socket hanging out of the wall and a pot of unknown liquid in the cupboard under the stairs. After being informed that we would like to keep a pet there, the agent ensured she would contact us later that day with an answer and then after no call arrived we contacted them. Another call was promised for the next morning. When no call occurred by 2pm that day we contacted the company to find out that the first person viewing had taken the property. While this is understandable, not informing someone of this is rude and unacceptable. After reading reviews of how the office is managed I have no trouble in believing them to be true. The level of customer service here is absolutely atrocious.

Would never use this company. Didn't get in to my property until 5:30pm on the day when they should have been out at 1:00pm. I understand this is out of Whitegates control but the seller advised us Whitegates had never advised them a time. When phoning Whitegates to see if this was true they said the sale had gone through and was nothing they could do, we would have to wait. As Whitegates close at 5:00 on a Friday we were panicking that we would not get the key if the people did not move out before 5. We phoned our solicitor who phoned Whitegates to see what was happening. As the time was just after 5:00pm, Barbra said it was not here problem as she finished at 5:00pm and slammed the phone down. Absolutely disgusting. Would never buy a house, or sell with them. In the end we spoke to Cameron Mkenzie who knew the seller as they were buying their new house from them. They sorted it all and even stayed late to make sure everything was ok. I have never written a review before but due to the very poor way this branch dealt with everything feel it is necessary. Good luck if you use this company. They are lucky google make you give at least one star.
