Hi James - Could you email to let me know more about your review? I believe you a former tenant of one of our properties. Did something happen? Please let me know if there was an issue with the service as both myself and Josh (Rental Manager) are unaware of any problems. Sorry I have seen this so late on

I dont think they have a good rating for selling properties i think they could do better in selling your property but very friendly and helpful

Hi Tina - Many thanks for taking the time to review our company however I am rather perplexed by your comments re our selling ability. First of all, thank you for the kind comments about being helpful and friendly. It is something we pride ourselves on! I am though confused about the selling comment. For the past 15 years, we have been Lancasters, top-selling agent. To explain in more depth - last year 1 in 5 houses sold via JDG, so far this year we averaging 1 in 4. This month alone we have agreed 22 sales and it is only the 18th of February! More importantly, we are ranked by Rightmove and The Property Academy in the Top 3% of estate agents in the UK and The British Property Awards rated us the Gold Winner for Lancaster. These awards are based on 3 factors - Marketing, Service and Results. I have checked through my records as I wanted to call you personally to discuss but I can't find any record of you on our systems - I hope that clears thing up but if you want to chat about it, please call me on 01524 843322

Really poor experience with this agency when trying to purchase property. Lost out on best and finals initially - no problem with this. The successful buyer was unable to get a mortgage though, and the agency failed to make me aware. When I discovered it still on rightmove I enquired again and resubmitted my offer. Then I was told another offer was being negotiated and had just been accepted. When I called to speak to the manager Mr Gallagher who I presume is the owner, to see if there was anything I could do and to discuss my experience he was rude and dismissive. He also said he would make a judgment about whether or not to put my offer forwards based on me getting my point across to his satisfaction. Considering there is a legal obligation to present all offers this is more than a little concerning to buyers and sellers alike. Avoid.

I viewed a property JD Gallagher were selling and was told three different stories by their staff relating to a damp issue. They will say anything to get a sale. Be wary if you are viewing properties being sold by this company.

Hi Summer, I’m presuming Summer is not your first name as I can’t find you on my system to call to discuss. Could you please call me on 01524 843322 to discuss. I’ve only had 2 viewers out recently so I’m trying to work out where you have viewed or who with and I am failing to figure it out. This is not our normal service as we like to always be transparent about the properties we are selling. Please will you call me to discuss. Thanks!

BE PREPARED TO BE MESSED AROUND In addition to my previous review I’d like to explain why I was not happy with the service I have received at JDG estate agents: I’d like to point out that our completion took 10 months, we initially had 2 viewings on where both agents said the property is ready to move in and we were reassured that the minute we get our documents ready the property is ours, John has also not mentioned anything to do with the probate during our initial telephone conversation while negotiating the price and has also reassured me that the property won’t have any delays (this was the main reason we decided to go ahead) anyway further down the line after paying all the required fees, finding the solicitors etc we were told the vendor doesn’t have a probate and we cannot go further without it which we found ridiculous why was this not mentioned at the viewings? Why were we reassured both times the property is ready?! This was clearly a LIE!! So obviously the property was put on the market by the estate agents without all the required documents which meant property was not ready to move into, We were provided with a date by when we should finally have the keys several times but ended up being ignored and lied on After 6-7 months of waiting and left in limbo we decided to request Louisa to kindly ask the vendor for £10,000 price reduction as even Louisa said that would’ve been fair as we were already waiting a while, Louisa called us next day and I’m pretty sure that conversation was recorded and confirmed the vendor is happy to reduce the price by £10,000 as this would be ”reasonable” few days later we got another update from Louisa telling us that the price reduction won’t go ahead so this is a clear sign of how messed around we were. The estate agents then started blaming Co-op probate department for delaying the process but I’m assuming the vendor didn’t expect to find the buyer so quickly so they only applied for probate after the property was put on the market, but why lie and not make things clear? I appreciate you work for the vendor and try finding the best price for them however I’d probably suggest to consider the buyers in the process as well because they are as important, and not mess them around like we were. Also, with regards to the recorded telephone conversation this is a clear reflection of how frustrated and out of control you have made me with your utter lies. Kind regards Mr Kadiu

Mr Kadiu, I shall repeat what we have previously said. Thank you for your review, but I would have appreciated you putting the real reasons for the delays which were not the agent's fault but that of the Co-op probate department. Agents have no control over how long a grant of probate takes and you were informed when you made your offer that the property was subject to a application for probate. You chose to carry on with your purchase and throughout the process Louisa kept you informed at all times and in fact it was Louisa who in the end went above your solicitors and managed to speak to the head of the Co-op probate department and got the matter expedited and through to completion. She also remained calm and professional at all times, even during the telephone conversations (recorded) with you when you were shouting and swearing at her and I only wish you had been the same instead of constantly demanding a £10,000 price reduction. From my side, I only spoke with you when I was negotiating the original sale price, and you must remember I am working to get my vendor the best price which I believe I did even when you offered me a tyres for my car if I got you a better deal, which I refused. I know your purchase was protracted and that was out of our control but that is no reason to behave in the manner you did towards Louisa whilst always being polite with me and I can only hope this isn't how to treat other people. Very very bad experience with this estate agency. Try and avoid this agency as much as you can. They tell lies from the day one of viewing to the day of completion which it was 10 month later. 10 month to complete a sale?! And they pretend to be the best agency in lancaster and morcambe but they are the WORST ones. Start from john and finish to Louisa very unprofessional... very disappointing and cost me so much money waiting 10 month for somthing which it was not my fault but agency...

They are scammers. Beware of this company. They rented me a house with no hot water. It took them over a month to fix. Then, when I complained about the multiple disrepairs, these cretins had me evicted. On top of that, they had the audacity to claim my full deposit. Horrible and racist staff. If you're a foreigner, they will treat you with disrespect. Avoid at all costs.

Hello Carlos I wanted to reply to you personally about your review and the explain the deposit situation. We do not keep your deposit, rather it is used to return the property to a conditionclose to that when you moved in and is used to pay for cleaning , repairs and redecoration and only once it is assessed by an independent body. I see you have agreed to pay for the damaged wardrobe and amounts towards the cleaning and decoration, so thank you for that. The main reason I wanted to reply was to your comment on us being horrible and racist which we certainly are not. I would like to have a discussion with you about these comments and if you can substaniate this with evidence I will take action myself against any individual member of my staff and I will personally call in the police as racism is unacceptable in any circumstances. Please contact me at my office and we can chat through any and all issues you have had with your property manager and I will take action where required. John Gallagher Managing Director

Appalling services as a letting agent. Reported Damp repeatedly to their office to which they made very minimal efforts to resolve and only approved the very minimal works to force contractors to botch job the repairs and hide the damp as apposed to actually fixing the problem. I had to repeatedly chase them up to send people to look at the property, and when the damp was first reported they attempted to tell me they knew the cause/extent of the issues without someone even entering the property despite the damp only getting worse. Thankfully I wished to be home when a contractor eventually attended and he told me the true cause of the damp and put requests in to fix this properly however he was not approved the work. I was reporting the damp issues for over a year before I finally found a newer property to move to and handed in my notice, then suddenly they rushed out a damp surveyor to check the property,. And sadly after this terrible service and the state jd Gallagher was willing to leave my home in, they have still attempted to not give me my full deposit back. I am extremely disappointed in JDG. After being a loyal tenant for years I would not recommend them to anyone.

Hi Rachel, Thank you so much for bringing this to my attention and having a chat with me yesterday. This is obviously not the standard I expect from my Lettings Team and I will be investigating this with the people involved and I apologise that it has happened and that it has got to this stage. In the meantime, I have returned your full deposit and I wish you the best in your new home.

Do not trust them and lying so blatantly to try and sell a property. They have a good portfolio of properties and when speaking with their staff on the phone they are lovely. However we visited a property in lancaster and spotted some warning signs of damp the guy showing the property just blatantly lied to us and said there are no problems with damp. When we pointed out the very obvious ones including the walls being really wet in two rooms on the top floor and the fact that there was holes in the roof where we could see the daylight coming through, he continued to lie. There were a few other things he claimed that did not match what we were seeing. Went and bought the next house we saw with a different agent

Hi Nicole I'm really sorry to read your review. This is not the sort of standard we offer at JDG and your comments will now be investigated by John Gallagher. The home that you viewed does need considerable work, hence how it is priced and marketed. The team is also aware of this. If you could email john@jdg.co.uk as to what has happened and he can look into this more. Many thanks

Absolute waste of space

Dear Steve - I know you have had some viewings cancelled due to the fact that the owners chose to accept an offer from a different buyer. This is a clients choice. I really do not know what else we have done to upset you to warrant such a review. Could you please let me know? My phone number is 01524 843322 - Michelle Gallagher
