Would suggest not going anywhere near Breckon and Breckon as tenants. Horrible service, over-charged for nearly everything, 2/3 of our deposit retained unfairly (still in dispute with TDS), terrible communication and no care or interest in the state of properties being managed. It may suit landlords but, if you're a tenant considering renting through Breckon and Breckon, DON'T! On top of all this, we were left with a kitchen completely falling apart for over 6 months. They don't care as long as the money's rolling in.
This is the worst real estate agency I've ever experienced in Oxford. On the way to make an offer, the lady whose name is "Jodie Smith" lied to us. Even though we called several times to her office, her colleague said she was not there or on the phone, which I am not sure it was even true. She sent a one-sentence email long after we needed to hear her response. I would like to point out that this happened even in a situation where she was well aware of the fact that we were in a hurry. Obviously they don't care about customers' situation. Avoid this real estate agency at all cost. My friend at the University of Oxford warned me about this agency but I regret that I didn't take what she told me seriously. If you think you won't be a victim and get into this real estate agency, then this will be one of the biggest mistakes in your life. ++ I cannot reply on your response so I will add it here. We called you in the morning and we said it was urgent. We called you several times throughout 3 hours but you didn't even bother to call us back. You just sent us a one-sentence email 5 hours after you promised to call us back (thankfully you mentioned the exact time you sent us email which was 16.42). This is how you treat customers? Also we called you this morning again and your colleague said you were on the phone. Were you on the phone for 3 hours? It doesn't matter whether our offer is accepted or not. It is about how you guys treat customers. You were disappointed? If you have a little bit of conscience on yourself, you really cannot say this. It is us who are absolutely disappointed. You played with us! Shame on you!
Money orientated and regimental letting agency with belittling attitude: - hefty moving in fee - repeated fees for every contract extension (only effort involved is changing a date on the previous paperwork) - after initial first year, every extension needs to be for another 12 months with no earlier exit possible without paying full 12 months rent - compulsory for tenant to take out and pay for additional 'tenants liability insurance' policy - moving out fee - final inspection visit done by external company whose fees need to be paid by tenant
Terrible. Three hours late to a viewing and didn't apologise or call up to give me notice. Just kept on saying we'll be there in 5 minutes. Then said that my offer for a place was accepted and only after I had stopped looking for other places told me that it was a mistake and it wasn't actually accepted. Signed on to live at another place and moved in without the furnishings that was promised and had to wait a month for it. Currently living there with a broken window that I notified them about four months and ago and nothing has been done about it yet. Terrible. UPDATE: The window still remains broken despite constant reminders. It has now been more than a year...
