Hi Tim, as I've seen your reply, I'll give you a rundown: - tried to make me pay the guarantor fees twice over despite only having done the first round 2 months previously and none of the details had changed. - when the internet went down (it was fine for the first few months that I moved in) they said I "should have checked it before I moved in" (like, how?) And offered me a "solution" of paying for my own separate internet connection for an additional £30 a month on top of the £473 I'm already paying despite internet being included in the contract. Grudgingly enquired with Vodafone to see if there was a problem then when it failed to get better did nothing more about it. Got less than 1mbps the entire two years I was there and lost my job (which I conducted remotely) because of it. - landlord showed up without warning, illegally. Visit was not necessary and could have been handled without a visit. Was very awkward and uncomfortable. Felt pressured to let him in. He even commented on how I looked hungover. - passed my number on to the fire alarm company without asking me first - advertising to new tenants that they would fit a washing machine even though they refused us because it's would have to be near the exit and is therefore a fire hazard. - tried to make my dad (guarantor) sign a contract that made him liable for any damage/non payment done by ANY of the tenants, not just by me - gave my flatmate the wrong key and refused to send somebody to the house let her in until the next day so she had to walk all the way back to the estate agent to get it herself despite it being their fault - tried refusing to give my flatmate her deposit back when her tenancy ended, claiming that she hadn't handed the keys in when she had - tried to make us pay a 2nd deposit when renewing the tenancy despite already having one from us from when we originally signed. Claimed they "couldn't carry it over" but backed down pretty quickly when my dad told them he was going to get legal advice before paying it - arranged a house viewing when I was away for the week (which I'm cool with), used a master key to unlock my room and then LEFT IT UNLOCKED - all 4 of us have requested the mailbox be fixed multiple times and six months on it still hadn't been done. - when one flatmate's radiator wasn't working he asked if she had tried bleeding it and told her to try that before doing anything else. The next thing we know we are being spam called by the estate agent to let the plumbers in when we hadn't been told they were coming - harrassed two of my flatmates to come back to the house from their respective countries before the end of june during a GLOBAL PANDEMIC when travel was LITERALLY ILLEGAL.
A lot of repairs could have been done before I moved in to the house I am renting before I moved in. I have had to wait about 5 weeks for them to fix a leaking tap, a broken cupbord, remove lots of rubbish from previous tenant, massiveleaking roof, gap where the window doesn't shut properly in the middle of winter when I have small children, replace carpet which has trip hazards and previous dog smell - they wait til I move in and now I have to take time off work to move everything so they can do the carpet and let contractors in when they should have done this when it was empty along with the other repares they could have done before I moved in. The rent is good it's just a shame a nice house has been neglected. I think if the landlady saw the house as it was when I moved in she would be disapointed.im really hoping to put up the stars on this review over time
Booked viewing for a property yesterday, traveled 2 hours today, wait for 30 mins for the agent to show up and show me the place only to call them myself and find out that the property was sold YESTERDAY! Outrageous service ! Socking communication!
Rude and unprofessional staff , took over 4 months to fix our washer , no communication between departments, genuinely disgraceful response times and attitudes from all staff, I wouldn’t rent from them again or recommend them to anyone no matter how desperate
Their communication is awful
Heard nothing about my enquiry. Quite patronising as well. Avoid.
Could actually show up for viewings. Standing people up is extremely unprofessional and totally unacceptable.
