Somehow, couldn't get the professionalism expected.
Failed to arrive for the valuation on the date agreed.
I lived on aa flat for a year that was under the management of Streets Ahead estate agents, and the only thing I cannot complain about it that they DO respond to your inquiries, HOWEVER, they don't do anything for the tenant. Whatever you ask them, their only response is "yes, sorry..but this is how it is" whereas I believe the agency is supposed to be a good communicator between the property manager/landlord and the tenant. I have moved out of the property 20 days ago, the new tenant has moved in, and I still haven't received my deposit and all I get is "you have to wait" - why couldn't THEY wait for the deposit if it was the other way round? Not good!
LANDLORDS BEWARE While streets ahead are a good agency on the whole, there are some major problems that I would suggest landlords stay away from this agency. Firstly the good bits. The lettings team are fantastic! Kunel, George and Alexander are excellent at what they do and I trust them whole heartedly with finding me good tenants. Property management are ok... But high turn over in staff means I’m constantly speaking to someone new. I had good property managers in the past but standards are slipping. Now the major problem... they’re hire a handy man called Dave to carry out work that he isn’t qualified for. He does work which can only be described as a short term fix only for everything to go wrong weeks later. In short he’s a cow boy builder and should not be trusted with clients properties. I assume they use him because he’s cheap. When his work messes up they get property builders in who know just how bad Dave is and they told me they get most of their work from cleaning up Daves mess! So I suggest all landlords to not use fully managed at streets ahead. I recommend them for a find tenants or rent collection only. Don’t let their builders ruin your properties like they did to me!!!!
Our new house# flat2, 105, lower addiscombe road has not registerd in many important sites, hence facing lots of problem. We don't have a talk talk TV connection, we don't have wifi n/w to work from home, I am travelling a lot for job due to this.
Staff are good but processes are quite bad specially when you move out. Nobody want to give your deposit back. Calls after calls, messages after messages and emails after emails but no sign of deposit repayment. It has been 2 months since I moved out and nobody ever called me to let me know about repayment of deposit. Whenever I call the team is in meeting, with a promise for call back which never happens !!!
My mother was spoken to very bluntly on the phone this week when trying to book a valuation even though she is taking it off he market with another agent (c&w). My mother has said she expected a lot more guidance but got virtually none
It's hard to write this review, because any agency has 1) The way the company runs, and 2) the people who work there. For Streets Ahead I'd give them *1 star* for our letting experience. Been letting through them two years now and observed their inter-department communication is almost non-existent, and for 1 and a half years hardly anything got done that we requested. Had zero confidence in them. As another commented, probably a lot of the 5 star lettings reviews only just moved in... BUT then came Shakira (our third property manager...) and she has been nothing but professional, responsive, and super helpful. She gets *5 stars* and is the reason Streets Ahead gets an extra star! If there were more Shakira's around, perhaps Streets Ahead would run better!
We bought a house in Anerley, which Streets Ahead were marketing. We found out dealings with the estate agents to be fine, but they've spoilt our opinion of the company by refusing to collect their "SOLD" sign, from the front of our house. We've phoned several times and they keep fobbing us off, hoping we'll take the sign to the tip on their behalf.
Terrible experience. I recently moved into a property managed by Streets Ahead, and the experience has been frustrating. Since moving in, several issues have been raised, yet there has been a severe lack of urgency in addressing them. Despite multiple follow-ups, we are yet to receive a proper timeline for repairs. The property was handed over to us in a poor state—one of the bedrooms has a patched-up wall from a previous leak, which a part remains covered with tape, making it unfit for setting up furniture. The bathroom light is out due to an electrical fault from a prior leak, and we were told this was noted before we moved in, yet it hasn’t been fixed. Additionally, the washing machine, which is the landlord’s responsibility, has not been replaced or repaired, leaving us unable to do laundry for weeks. The windows in the first bedroom are fogged up due to a sealant issue, making the room colder than it should be, and some window handles were faulty, with only some fixed while others left. The agency has been nonchalant, failing to provide clear communication or a timeframe, which has made settling in unnecessarily stressful. When we ask for clarification, they vaguely state what they are and aren’t responsible for, without properly listing what will actually be fixed. Property was viewed twice with tenants inside who had furniture covering some of these issue. However the inventory done before the previous tenants moved out, street ahead was noted of the issue but they did not fix it, for reasons best known to them. This is unacceptable for new tenants. We expected a livable space and responsible management, but instead, we have had to chase basic repairs and deal with delays. I would not recommend this agency based on my experience. I’m being asked to reach out to an email when your office is already fully aware of the email trail sent before this review. Those emails are filled with details and pictures. What matters now is action on our complaint, not just written apologies with no follow-through.
