Their valuation was higher than I expected, and they revised down from an initial figure of £635k to £600-625k. In the end the property sold for just over £585k (after a long time on the market and a reduction in the asking price from £600k to £575k). All that said, the people were always polite and friendly, the fees were reasonable and I think their brand works well. A decent estate agent, definitely.

These guys market themselves as different and alternative to your average Estate Agent so I was expecting great things from them. Sadly they are just your average, unresponsive and somewhat unprofessional Estate Agents despite all their pretence at trendy wokeness. I'd avoid and go somewhere else. The only positive thing I have to say about them is they were cheap. But not the cheapest in Wanstead.

Our experience with this company was deeply disappointing and raised serious concerns about their professional business practices. We conduct safety inspections on behalf of buyers and were instructed to carry out a significant number of checks for a particular customer. The property in question was listed with this agent. Initially, we contacted Carly, who informed us that the date we proposed might be too far ahead. However, she assured us she would consult with the seller and promptly follow up. To our dismay, during this waiting period, the agent arranged for their in-house suppliers to conduct the inspections instead—presumably securing their commissions in the process. This was done without any notification to us, leaving us entirely unaware of these developments. When we followed up, we were informed that the inspections had already been completed. Naturally, we questioned why the buyer would instruct us, wait for our availability, and then turn to another company. Carly’s response was defensive and evasive, culminating in her abruptly terminating the call mid-discussion. In our line of work, we collaborate with many agents who, despite the industry's challenges, generally maintain professional standards. Regrettably, this company exemplifies the very behaviours that tarnish the reputation of estate agents as a whole.

“Definitely an agency to avoid! Make sure to do thorough research and be cautious before renting anything from them. They don’t keep their promises, are unresponsive, and completely ignore any issues you may have. If you don’t want to deal with such a terrible experience, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.”

Couldn't give a **** about potential buyers. Crammed in to "viewing days" booked out weeks in advance to create artificial panic. Best and Final offers are default, regardless of how many offers are received. Emails lost or left unanswered. Genuinely do not care about the people they sell to. I would never consider buying a property listed with them.NegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism

I've had serval bad experiences with Stow Brothers, as a buyer or potential buyer. And, my partner as a Seller. There's a blonde woman working in the Wanstead branch, with no manners or understanding of the bigger picture (that selling houses, to buyers like us is their whole business). Me and my partner have a budget of 500k, when we went to the shop to see what they had etc... we knocked on the door and the woman stood up and put her finger in the air, for us to hold and wait, like a Trader would do in wolf of wall street, while she finished gossiping with her colleagues. We stood there for about a minute, my partner started to walk away because we were just being completely ignored and it was incredibly disrespectful, they then opened the door with a total attitude / very rude and when we explained our budget was "500k" they started to care even less describing our budget as really small and "only" 500k ... they never followed up with us on any properties, it was an awful experience. Another time, I called about a property i was interested in for myself and the woman just refused to put me through to the sales team and was super defensive and protective of putting people through, she said the property wasn't available any more and there was no point of me speaking to them ??? My partner also asked them to value his parents house, before this, along with other estate agents. They valued it 125k less than 4 other estate agents. Agency that keeps old nice flats (that are not available) pictures on their website in order to attract people and then brings them to visit random flats that do not meet any of the requirements communicated by their client. Avoid.
