Really pleased with the service received, Amanda & Michelle where brillaint and found me a tenant who really looks after my property and was happy to pay more than I expected.
Tenant experience - Very quick to chase for money and fees with unprofessional responses to further enquiries considering how much money they ask for. Main reason for this comment is to point out Dennis Roodhardt, who has posted a review, is the Branch Manager of Folkestone Martin and Co and so his views should be disregarded as a conflict of interest.
It's clearly racist to make such a question or statement as an employee of Martin&Co. As a Hungarian, I saved the lives of millions of English people every day during the COVID period. Thank you, I didn't get that much. I am a truck driver and delivered the right equipment to the hospitals every day. Risking my life and the life of my family and my newborn baby boy. This is thanks, Their racist expressions. That's Sanderson, and Kings Edmonds, too. Thank you Agenc!!!!!👍
I wouldve given no star, if had the option. I rented a property from them for over 3 years. Everytime, when they visited to examine the property, they were happy with its condition. While, we also reported everything (like damp and mould) they took an avg notice of it. Somehow managed to get them envirovents installed in bedroom as damp started to affect our bedroom furniture. However, despite the fact these vents were installed, damp still affected our stuff. I complained them several times, but no proper solution. After giving them notice, this lady called Amanda took over the charge as I found it out that she was their head at Maidstone site. It took me over three weeks to get my deposit back, on which I had to actually argue and show stuff (mentioned on their contract) of how we were being charged. They were delaying it on everyday, sometimes I had to send 3 emails before someone answering me back. On your leave notice they will charge you for cleaning with various other names, and you will be charged for same stuff again and again. At the end I got so frustrated that I was thinking to seek for a legal help against this team. Managed to get some of my deposit back after giving them keys for something like 3 weeks before. They have their own friends contractors, so you ask them some stuff to be done at property, they will do it but in 2 months time you will be calling them again with the same problem. Thats how they also charge landlords again and again for repeating same job. Ignore them if you can, it will be good for you.
Absolutely shocking. Reception seems to never connect me to an agent as they are always busy. Have tried for over 2 weeks to view an unfurnished 2 bed penthouse in Leybourne Park, Ingram Close. All i get are short emails from michelle asking me the same questions such as which property were you interested in?... whoever owns the 2 bed flat unfurnished on Ingram Close... i strongly suggest you go to another estate agents as these guys are obviously not keen to let it out and would rather cost you money. Im appalled and cant understand why they are in such a state!
Both my partner and I were leasing properties from this company. When I moved in to my flat, there was still soap and shower gel on the bathroom walls, along with a generally dirty flat that I had to clean before moving in. I was left without a washing machine for almost 3 months after mine broke down. When I left, despite cleaning the property thoroughly, I was charged for cleaning & carpet cleaning, and damage to the property that was there when I moved in. I was even charged £10 to change a light bulb!! I disputed the proposed deductions and received sarcastic or rude replies from Amanda (the manager). My partner was then extremely vigilant when leaving his property knowing what I had been through, and even hired a carpet cleaner, but low and behold, he was charged for carpet cleaning. I cleaned & defrosted fridge/freezer for him, but he was charged saying he did not do this. He was even charged for a 2nd 'missing' smoke detector that wasn't even in the property when he moved in. He moved out on 12th August, and disputes over deposit returns have been ignored by Martin & Co, and he still now doesn't have his deposit back (it's now February), and we're in the process of disputing through the DPS. I would advise anybody against leasing a property through Martin & Co, unless you don't want to see your deposit again.
