Nicholas Humphreys house tenants in appalling conditions (damp, cold and mouldy), flatly ignore tenants' concerns, are non-responsive and even charge tenants for other people's bills. They do not provide the basics of safe, clean housing that anyone should be able to expect and should be avoided at all costs. An absolutely disgraceful exercise in the exploitation of people's fundamental needs for profit.NegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism, Value
If you're not a fan of mould or damp, Nicholas Humphreys is one to avoid. They don't communicate with their tenants and ignore issues brought to their attention. These are disgraceful issues at any time, but especially during a pandemic and when people who rent with them suffer from asthma.NegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Value
If you're a tenant DO NOT rent from Nicholas Humphreys. Problems such as damp or even wet walls, and serious mold are in many of the rooms. This is a serious health issue, especially in the middle of winter, and their responsibility to fix. Clearly they also knew about this issue beforehand and hid it. They seem happy to simply blame their tenants and even claim tenants are reponsible for additional payments! Do yourself a favour and avoid this company.NegativeQuality, Professionalism
Think my housemate Jav worded our experience perfectly: The property was dirty when we moved in, and we were charged for its "dustiness" when we moved out. Glynne (property manager) was impossible to contact all year (always in meetings! busy woman!), aside from the occasion she badmouthed one of us (an NHS nurse) to her face. We discovered, 9 months into our tenancy, a genuinely smoking, sparking, half-melted plug socket under our kitchen sink which had been overlooked by them and their contracted electrician during inspection, which was causing power cuts and setting off our carbon monoxide alarm. They left our front door open after a house viewing. They did multiple house viewings without letting us know (a legal requirement). They broke our tenancy agreement regarding the process for deposit disputes and still walked away with hundreds of pounds. It took them a MONTH to fix our bathroom lighting after we first reported it as broken. They were generally quite rude and uncommunicative, which was extremely frustrating during the covid pandemic, as our move-out date approached. So, overall, not a positive experience.NegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Value
One of the worst agents around. How they treat their cliets is disgraceful. I have logged a complaint with the property obdusmanNegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism, Value
If you are a student, steer clear of Nicholas Humphreys. My friends rented a property off them only for the house to be unfinished, and the move in date delayed. They were still charged full rent for the time when the property wasn't available. They are now using their deposits to redecorate the house, despite admitting they already had plans to redecorate regardless. Nicholas Humphreys are dishonest, and will try to rip you off.NegativeProfessionalism
Landlord locked me out of my flat multiple times. The oven was genuinely a ‘play’ oven for children. The “hardwood” floors are made of plastic.
Terrible letting agent! Refused to address damp in flat and just stopped replying to emails. Overcharged for bills we didn’t recognise and started making threats when we challenged this. Definitely AVOID!!NegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Value
Stay away!! We've gone through 5 months of hell trying to sort out our deposits! They are rude, they are unresponsive and they care little for their tenants.
Do not rent with NH unless you are fond of living in mouldy and damp properties. This company has done nothing to solve these issues in one of their properties. Do not rent with them!
