it is the worst, slowest, unhelpful agency. I had very big problem with this agency.I STRONGLY do not recommend Martin&Co...If I had a chance,I would give 0 star for them !!!
Worst Company ever. Please trust the reviews and don't go with them I ignored the reviews and had to pay the price. They will not help you in anyway what so ever. They have the worst customer service. When I moved in the house the oven and Cooking hob shorted out the electricity and I could not cook as it was electric. it took them 2 weeks to sort that out by sending them thousands of emails and calling everyday. In the end they also took huge amount of money from my deposit without any reason. they are clearly gonna charge you so much money practically they are stealing. Please trust all the reviews and never do business with this company even if you have to live on the street its gonna be better then getting anything from them. Worst Worst Worst company ever.
I have rented via these muppets in the past...10 years ago! and they clearly haven't changed and it galls me they are still in business!! When I ended my tenancy, they charged me £25 (Back then!) to replace one light bulb! for a flat I left spotless. Now I'm looking to rent again and was appalled to find they are looking to charge £350 per person (me and my partner, so that's £700!) for references. Interesting what was said earlier in these reviews. Clearly still on the make. Landlords and potential tenants - AVOID!!!
I wish I could give 0 stars. All in all it was a farce. Truly. I was due to move in last year (Nottingham city centre apartment), November 22nd but they threw this back to the 27th due to work that needed to be done (last tenant...) This would have been fine if they'd have kept me informed. Anyway, they needed to fix a bed and various other things, so they told me... I move in. I have a toddler and am on my own; the oven doesn't work. This isn't their fault they told me (as how could they possibly, considering the extortionate moving in fee, check all the appliances). An engineer comes (early December) and finds that the thermostat is faulty, the temp’ exceeds 300 degrees (caused melting of oven proof material and the fire alarm to go off; highly distressing for my son). This was finally fixed 30th December. That’s right. Xmas on microwave meals and over a month living off non-oven cooked food. This wasn't of any importance to them, as although' reported they didn't actually authorise this until xmas eve. I chased and chased and chased. Was told it would be fitted 27th December, but the offices were closed that day and nobody came. The fitters confirmed my suspicions, they was only told about the job the morning of the 30th December. Charming! They refused to compensate me. Moving on. Well, this broken bed. It was still broken when I moved in and only when I threatened with the ombudsman was this sorted. 7 months later. I was told that the landlord had refused to replace it, because it was stable. Stable?! Stable?! It was broken, the metal bars holding the mattress regularly dropped. There was also a leak when I moved in (sorted December) , faulty blinds, cupboards etc etc (these sorted July 2014) I couldn’t actually work out why the delay in moving. Oh and the checkout. A two bedroomed apartment took almost 3 hours as the lady photographed and logged every mark on the skirting board, wall, appliance etc Ridiculous. I did actually get my deposit back, in full. But this took them over a month and again, I had to chase them. Fortunately a lovely staff member Marie helped; the only person that appeared to care at any point throughout the period. I do not recommend this company to anybody. You are crazy to hand them your money, that’s all they want. And if you don’t heed this advice then I really hope you are like a friend and rent a flat that, fortunately, doesn't experience any problems.
Totally inept and inconsiderate with dire customer service. I drove 2.5 hours to come to a viewing and was told 15 mins before the viewing time that they had let it the day before I arranged the viewing!!!!!! Avoid at all costs.
Unhelpful and Unable to deal with problems quickly or efficiently during tenancy and also afterwards when we were trying to get our deposit back.
useless - poor service slow ,they don't seem to know whats going on. should have read the reviews before hand. they charge extortionate fees that dont reflect customer service and cant even get basic paperwork sorted even when given a months notice . no chance of moving in on time. they need to get there act sorted.
Unhelpful and Unable to deal with problems quickly or efficiently during tenancy and also afterwards when we were trying to get our deposit back.
Terrible organisation! Mess you about, never return your calls, take an age to get any task done.
