I have never known such incompetence and outright lies being told whilst trying to rent a flat through this agency. I was told a flat had "excessive amounts" of money spent on it when it hardly had anything done. I rejected the flat at the time of the handover as it was grubby with stains on the carpet, kitchen cupboard hanging off, window smashed and stained dirty walls. Now they will not refund me my fees or the rent advance and deposit, in total I've paid them £1460.00. I dealt with Jesseca Spencer who was handling the let but she hasn't even been to the property to check out its condition.Yet she was vouching for it blindly. When I asked to speak to the manager he wasn't available and when asked to meet at the flat this was deemed to be not "beneficial" and there was nobody available to meet me at the flat to discuss the issues. Customer service and taking responsibility is abysmal.

Dreadful. We booked a second viewing of a house, thinking us showing interest would be incentive for them to like us, then were left standing outside in the freezing cold for half an hour because the house had been sold and nobody had bothered to tell us.

They seem to have no concept of "duty of care" and routinely use cowboy companies to carry out work seemingly without any due diligence.

Worst company I have ever dealt with! No customer respect , delegation is very poor, communication and service is dramatic. Seems like you are dealing with bunch of incompetent school pupil.

DO NOT USE MARTIN & CO MANCHESTER! - The worst letting company I've ever come across. My flat got broken into during the working day, when I got back from work and called the emergency line to have our door fixed as it didn't lock, the line was off so I had to sleep in an unlocked flat (whilst other tenants though different agencies had their doors fixed that night). The next morning, I called the office for over 2 hours with no one picking up. Their office is only a 3 minute walk from my flat but as the flat didn't lock, I couldn't go over and confront them face to face with how shocking their service had been.

The only reason that I have given this "agency" one star is because I can't give it -100. Do not fall into their trap. The staff appear helpful, until you sign a contract with the devil. Then you see their true colours. Nothing was ever done, the staff are rude, they come into your home without permission. I am so happy that I don't have to deal with these people any more. I have never dealt with a company that is so unprofessional and disappointing. It's not a surprise that every review here has something bad to say. Honestly, take my word for it, use another agency, otherwise you will be the next victim writing a bad review. Completely shocked by this agency, shame on you Martin and Co.

Unfortunately the service was really bad. I have been trying to get my deposit sorted for 6 months and still going..... I regret making any kind of contract with them
