Shocking Moved in to a house in Austin close lovely place we fitted new shower however we had major issue with boiler they tried to palm us off saying it was not landlady’s responsibility As we had fitted a brand new 300 power shower We had carpets cleaned we looked after the property and were looking to make it long term However landlady decided she wanted to sell Her perogative We were assured by Nancy that they would endeavour to find us somewhere else This did not happen they never got back or offered any assistance what so ever Then to top it off they then charged us for carpet cleaning and garden Even though the lady who came and did inspection agreed it was In a perfectly acceptable condition DO NOT rent through this shoddy lying Greedy agency They were very forthcoming in collecting rent but once we were given notice were not interested at all in assisting us Shameful and shocking
If you rent a property through this company make absolutely sure you take your own photos of the property and go through their inventory with a toothpick as when you come to leave you will be charged for everything that even has a speck of dust on it even if it was dirty when you moved in. I also had to wait weeks for a fob to open the gates to the carpark even though I was paying for secure parking. I was charged 210.00 for cleaning even though the place had been cleaned well and was FAR CLEANER than when I moved in. The an extra 60.00 for a 'checking out fee' Basically DO NOT expect your deposit back. They even charged for the clock battery and one light bulb even though I had relaced all the rest with new and left spares!! Cheeky! Fair play though. Great money making scam. Maybe someones mum is the 'cleaning services' they use!!
I have called the agency three times. A gentleman took my name and the number, told me that they will call me back. He said the same thing each time I phoned ' I got all the details I will call you back'. When i called the property yesterday. Opps, it is already rented. Seriously? Then why you did you misinform me? I wouldn't work with this agency. I have read many negative comments and i also felt the vibe of lacking the sense of responsibility and organizing.
Absolutely shocking agents. Rented a property from them. Carpets were filthy Holes in bath tank leaking. Windows all damaged mold in bathroom and to bedroom huge crack in another bedroom... was told all would be done. Stupid me signed the agreement didnt do any off the work. I painted the hole house. 1 bedroom was only half painted before I gave up, as didnt finish the painting they took £170 out off deposit even tho painted the rest off house. Charged me £10 for 2 bulbs when half didnt work when moved in. Also charged me £50 to clean carpets what were filthy b4 moved in They dont care about tenants all interested in is taking your money plz if you read this stay away from john shephard
If you have an option to avoid this company than please do. Extremely unprofessional and incompetent. Never reply to the emails or phone calls. We rented a house more than 2 months ago, the problems we identified before moving into the house have still not been addressed. We had to call their rental service line couple of times to notify about these problems, they say that we can't help as no inventory has been uploaded on the system yet. We rung the Solihull branch multiple times about the lack of inventory and the problems, they promise to get back to us ASAP but they never do. So after 2.5 months we still don't have the inventory and no issue has been addressed. They cannot even correct the mistake in initial rental agreement which were pointed out before signing the agreement. Absolute shambles.
This is by far the worst agency I have ever rented with. I started renting with john shepherd letting on August 17 th 2018, I have complained to the agency via phone call multiple times about my bathroom doors being broken, balcony doors not closing , fridge not working properly- and they do absolutely nothing about it. Myself and my family ring multiple times and we get no Call back whatsoever to show that the agency are dealing with the issue. We ring time and time again and the issues are never followed up. The agency are extremely unhelpful, unprofessional and provide a very poor service. The people that work there are insincere and show no real interest in wanting to help you.
I would never allow this company to represent me. Absolutely unprofessional and never communicate or call back even after several attempts to get in contact with the representatives.
They tell you one thing and do complete opposite! Terrible way to operate a business......do not touch with a barge pole!
A real rip off agency. They have very unjustifiably high fees, also charge £60 for checking out and also another £60 tendency renewal every year which does not make sense at all. Walk away!!!
I would avoid John Shepherd like the Plague. Rarely return calls and emails. Customer service is shocking. It's unfortunate you have to select a star rating because they are not even worthy of 1 star. If you want to be messed around, be uninformed, not have your emails and phone calls replied to then these are your people, otherwise, i would go elsewhere.
