Dear Robert Owen, We’re sorry to hear that you are dissatisfied with the way we handled it. We want to strongly emphasize that any deductions from your deposit were made in strict accordance with your consent and agreement, specifically regarding the damages incurred during your tenancy. We want to reiterate that no deductions were made without your explicit approval. It is absolutely crucial for you to acknowledge and accept the undeniable fact that the current condition of the property is significantly and visibly different from its original state when it was handed over to you. We remind you that the property underwent a complete refurbishment prior to your tenancy, and you were the first tenant to occupy it. However, during your final check-out, it was evident that you made no effort to clean the property. The basin had food remains, the microwave had food stains, and there were clusters of hair, dirt, and dust in the corners of the rooms. These cleanliness issues clearly indicate a lack of responsibility and care on your part. Please feel free to reach out to 0208 951 5558 with any further comments, concerns, or suggestions you wish to share. We would love to make things right if you give us another chance. Best Regards, Oyster Properties Team

Highly unprofessional, un ethical & nuisance. They sent me email & confirmed my viewing & they called me the same day as well to check I had to schedule my day for the same as no other days were available stating landlord will not be available & then just 1 hour prior to viewing they called & informed the property is gone. They are highly unprofessional. Not at all recommended. This was for 5 Alpha Court Harrow on the Hill. Agent name Mary

My experience with Oyster Properties has just been absolutely shocking. After viewing a property and receiving the tenancy agreement, I complied with all of the necessary applications. Provided my references and proof of ID documentation. This process which takes weeks. I paid a holding fee of £240 for the property and was told all was okay. After the advert stated no deposit available, I was asked for a guarantor which I do not have or to pay a deposit and two or THREE months rent up front. I explained I would pay 2 months money. I then was ignored for over a week, both emails and phone calls. I spoke to the receptionist everyday for a week straight and was promised a call back from a member of staff and then the manager. I did not hear from anybody. I then looked online to see they were re-advertising the same property I had paid £240 for them to hold (they did not tell me they were re-advertising!) I then received the news via EMAIL after not hearing from anybody, that they had cancelled my tenancy and wanted to refund the money. 2 weeks before I was suppose to move in. All I can say is I am speechless. Moving is such a stressful process and this had made it 100x worse. Judging by the reviews, this company will only respond to those who are selling houses/making them a lot of money. They definitely discriminate against those trying to help themselves and find accommodation.

Dear Amie, First of all, we really and deeply apologize for the inconvenience it has caused you. We write this just to clarify to you that we have all along tried to be helpful to you and provide the right advise. It’s our endeavor to make the tenancy and the move-in process as simple and hassle free as possible. So please read our point of view here. 1. House owners usually get the Property/Tenancy insured and it is the requirement of the Insurance company that the Tenant clears a referencing process laid out by Insurance Companies. 2. Your application did not pass the referencing process and trust us, we tried our best to gather as much information, as possible, from you so that the Referencing company makes a proper informed decision. 3. And thus, after a few days of to and fro, the Owner could not accept your tenancy application as it did not pass the Referencing Company’s process. Which is why the tenancy could not be insured. As for the holding deposit, we accept it from Applicants to take the Property off the market during referencing. The referencing process is a simple verification/evaluation process which checks the Tenants’ claims of a legal right to stay and other information they have provided. Once again, we apologise for the experience you had and we hope you appreciate that we were simply doing our job. Best Regards, Oyster Properties Team

Worst experience renting I ever had, I moved in one month ago with my family I have a son 20 months old, and there was a problem in The main bedroom that they said that would be fixed by the end of weekend, so we were ok about that, and we would stay in a tiny room that fits a double bed inside (3 of us), but one month later they still didn’t fix anything in the flat even the small things that they said it was priority to fix and report it in a link sent to us, because my son could hurt himself, still not fixed, we are paying the total rent, the landlord said that he wouldnt reduce the price for the rent even though we are not able to use the main bedroom of the flat, is really sad how people can disrespect you when they are protected by a contract, they use it against you, even though knowing that you are having problems, they have loads of pictures and videos of the situation, and still don't do anything… Uploading some pictures so you can see it by yourself, and decide if they are fair or not... by the way the always say that the place has to be professionally cleaned right ? we are full of paint on the floor and other things...

Unfortunately I’m renting a property in Enfield with this agency and so far was the worst experience I had. The flat has a lot of problems one of this is a leak in the main bedroom that the agency said would be fixed in one week time, I’m living here for a month and one week and still the place has not been fixed. We can’t use the main bedroom as there is mold everywhere and the wall is falling apart. I decide to break the contract has we are living in awful condition and bad for me I’m dealing with a “really nice”person from financial team. We asked a reduction of the rent as instead of two bedroom flat we are using just one room (which is a really tiny room) and if they would not accept we won’t allow any viewing, she said that we are threatening them saying that we won’t pay the rent. If basically we don’t do as she said she will report us to the authorities and that Our behaviour will be mentioned on any landlord reference and if any rent in unpaid they will start debt collection procedures which will result in CCJs if applicable. All this just because we asked for a discount since we are not using the whole flat. I have a 20months son and the place is not safe at all for him but still they don’t care! What to say…I just have no words. They are just after money and did not say sorry once. Just being rude and ignoring texted and calls.

Having viewed a property on the Saturday, we were told by Umit that we would receive the paperwork to move to the next step. After waiting long past we were told we'd receive an update, I contacted Umit and his colleagues several times via email and calls to ask for news. I can understand that properties rent out quickly, but it's only polite to drop a quick email to inform us (Update: The property is still available). Especially as we were there for viewings on the first available day. I'm disappointed to have been treated this way and find it shockingly unprofessional for a service provider.NegativeResponsiveness, Professionalism
