I usually don’t write a negative review but goodness this one’s necessary. Not just for me but to help others know on how awful the customer service is. I was a tenant of Martin and co for 6 months, let me say this, if your property manager is DEBBIE KEMPSON, you are doomed. The worst customer service I have ever received, I’m usually a person who believes in giving respect and taking respect but man this pushed my tolerance level to extreme. After I vacated, the deposit must usually be returned by 10 days following checkout report which usually comes by 3-4 days. My deposit took 2 months to be returned even after landlord informing them to return it a week after I vacated. Every time I called this lady, she was not only ignoring the calls but arrogant, rude, mannerless, feeding lies over lies every time she spoke. DO NOT EVER TRUST THEM EVER. They deduct money from deposit for no reason, 350 pounds was deducted from mine for things which I was never guilty of. I was not so courageous to go against them as I have too many things going on with my personal life but someone has to take action against these people. If the deposit is not returned, I suggest you call DPS and know how to get on with legal action. After I said I’m going with legal action, they returned the deposit the same day. Moral: DO NOT TRUST THEM at any point of tenancy. I would like the senior manager of Harborne branch to take some action here, what’s happening here is very wrong. You might loose really good customers with this behaviour.

If your property manager is Natasha Scott then i feel sorry for you. She will deliberately try to make things difficult for you out of spite and be unhelpful. Good luck to anyone who decides to go with martin and co. x

I am highly disappointed in this agency. I was called after going for a viewing and the landlord is happy with my offer and is willing to meet I and my husband to finalize everything. With this great news, we stopped every viewing I had. We traveled very early in the morning with our newborn from London for the meeting and it went well. They assured us that they would give us a call in two days and they never did. Anytime I call, they tell me stories. Knowing very well that we were waiting for them. Later I checked the property online and the price was changed. This means they ain't ready to give out the house and they were happy wasting my time too. Calling to tell me that I won't get the property or the price has changed would be better but no they didn't. They are a total waste of time.

BE AWARE TENANTS AND LANDLORDS. This company is disgraceful they hired workers to do work in our house and charged £4,000 for work that was NOT done . They found a tenant with children and when we went to check the property we found the tenant sitting with no electric. The workmen had not done the work and Martin & Co had advised the tenant not to tell the ‘ landlord’ . We are paying monthly management fees. This company is absolutely disgusting that it can lie to both landlord and tenant and leave tenants in a difficult position and have taken large amount of money for work not done . Such a greedy company and dishonest . PLEASE TENANTS AND LANDLORDS FIND ALTERNATIVE AGENTS SUCH AS SHIPWAYS OR AND OTHER IN HARBORNE .UNLESS YOU WANT TO LOSE MONEY AND LIVE HORRIBLY WITH MANAGEMENT NOT TAKING CALLS.

Hello everyone I would second all the previous bad reviews about this company. I am trying to book a viewing for a house with this company.They initially give me a date of their choice and as I live 3 hours away so I requested friend to spare some time for viewing. Just few hours before viewing they cancel the appointment sating tenant is not allowing access. This has happened to me twice now with this company. Its very clear that you have to inform tenant first and then get a date and time and then arrange viewings. Representative sitting in office don't liaise with tenants and give out dates and then cancel dates causing distress and hassle to people who are trying to find a place to live. They then lie and act rudely on phone when I tried to inquire why it wasn't check with tenant first. These people extremely unprofessional with zero customer care.

This is actually a no star rating. Beware of this company! They mislead both landlords and tenants. Ensure all items are counted in a furnished accommodation as they will state a missing fork just to deduct money from you initial deposit. They constantly hide behind each other rather than actually resolving any issues brought to them. They are a disgraceful to their industry.

The attitude of all agents are really poor, rude and they know there is high demand for renting so they don’t care about customer service. And when it comes to property management they will always on landlords side they hardly listen to your complaints. I don’t recommend to anyone.

Let people in MY HOUSE WITHOUT MY CONSENT - I arrive home and wake up with people in my home and the letting agent is talking non sense to me on the phone trying to say this is okay. Who knows who else they let into the house? This is will probably happen to you as well, please avoid it if you can
