LANDLORDS BEWARE You might see a review below about insufficient and ILLEGAL actions when it comes to the registration of deposits. I do have been a victim of this, and since I’m no longer using their management service (also TERRIBLE), I got a voicemail from a woman called Chloe who took delight in telling me that there was nothing they would, “so you felt you would be better off without our management service”. Terrible service .

I don’t know how long a branch will be able to abuse the Martin and Co brand before their main office will step in and deal with this leaderless mess that is Cardiff lettings. The individual staff are most lovely, but the lettings manager seems to be oblivious to even the most basic of professional etiquette.

Tried serving me a 2 month notice after the laws had changed to 6 month. When I called to query this, they told me it was a mistake. When I spoke to a neighbour on a different floor (also managed by Martin and Co) they tried the same thing on her. Two young kids and English as a second language. The manager I spoke to was smug.

With two kids in the house, we waited 3 weeks without a washing machine. No replies and the person to help always unable to take my call. After 3 weeks, I found my landlord on Facebook and asked them if he had made a decision on the washing machine. He had never heard about the problem. He was very sorry and arranged for a new washing machine to be sent by AO which arrived 2 days after. If you have these problems, do not expect this agency to help. Go to your landlord.

As most landlord will already know, renting is pretty quiet for the majority of the time, until it’s not. That’s when you’re really relying on your agents to step up. Under the leadership of Chloe, that was most definitely not the case. The situation caused me untold stress, caused unnecessary upheaval to both my tenants and I, and has left a very bad taste.
