I am very disappointed by how I was treated by your Bracknell branch today. I went to view a flat I saw on Rightmove, that was 10 times smaller than the pictures and not even available to let. The letting agent, Martha, suggested it was my fault as I should have guessed the size from the price point. A better solution would be to just show pictures of how the flats actually look.. I can let a few square foot here and there slip, but the pictures made it look 10 times bigger, and it was described to me as “massive” and “huge” by the agent and it was probably about 400 square feet, although I was never able to obtain the floor plan or room measurements! There are currently a lot of tenants on the market looking for rentals…there really is no need to misrepresent properties to such an extent. I have seen this both on the rental and buying side and it really is not acceptable. It is misleading and it is misrepresentation. I took half a day of work unpaid, to view these flats and drove a 3 hour round trip - are Chancellors going to pay me back for the lost time at work and wasted fuel? I arrived 10 minutes late because the building name was not included in the address emailed to me, but that was my fault too apparently, because I was told everyone else was able to find it! She then told me because I was late she would not be able to show me all the flats and I would only be able to see one or 2! On a separate occasion I spoke to Richard at the branch regarding these flats, and although initially I was advised there was only one “massive” flat available as a ‘show home’, he then advised he had just let another one the same size that day and was awaiting confirmation details. I asked him if he could kindly let me know if these details were not received, as I would like to let it (based on the amazing pictures I had seen, and his enthusiasm about their size). His response was ‘“I don’t know if I’ll have time, we’re very hard pushed here you know, I might not be able to”. He then hung up. I have to question why he told me about a flat in the first place, that was already in the process of been let, and that he was not prepared to contact me about, if guarantor details were not received? Interesting sales technique! I think some of your staff could really do with training on attitude and customer service. The way I have been treated by this branch from start to finish has been really appalling 👎🏻 Another bone of contention is that half to 70% of Chancellors rentals and properties to buy on Rightmove and Zoopla are not actually available, because they are not marked as under offer or sold until they actually exchange. They are therefore marked as available but are in fact NOT AVAILABLE. This does kind of render these websites useless, when customers looking for a property cannot distinguish what is and isn’t available. Please use the website for what it is intended- to help both sellers AND BUYERS find a property. Having spoken to a couple of Chancellors agents about this, they told me they receive this complaint from buyers all day long, but it appears you are doing nothing about it…. WHY? What is even more frustrating, is that when calling a branch about one of these properties, the agent refuses to give any details about the property ‘s availability until they spend 5 minutes on the phone with you registering you with their branch and taking all your details, only to then tell you the property is already let or under offer and often sold as well! FRUSTRATING is an understatement! 😡👎🏼 UPDATE: Having just read other reviews on here, I feel humbled. It looks like some people’s experiences have been ten times worse than my own.. they have my sympathy!

A number of days after my tenants moved out of my property and while I was preparing to move back in. Chancellors sent in a contractor to undertake an electrical survey. The first I knew of it was when I received an invoice for the survey in the amount of £525 plus VAT and a list.of £1300 worth of work. Following a complaint I received an email saying you authorised the survey in March at a cost £200 plus VAT. Unfortunately the survey was delayed sorry for the inconvenience. That is palmed off to say the least. 1. It's August not March or April 2. I am no longer renting the property out 3. My agreement with Chancellors has ended 4. The quote was £200 not £525 5. They were not authorised to enter my house. I am more than inconvenienced

I had 5 viewings booked with chancellors for one day in Oxford as I live 2 hours away. They decided to cancel 4 of the viewings the night before because in the 2 days since I had booked the viewing they had all become let agreed apparently. I thought oh well I still have 2 viewings (one with another agent which was also cancelled in the morning) and finally 2 hours before after I had already made the trip down they decided to cancel my final viewing because the tenant wouldn’t give them the key or something. Absolutely fuming with it to be honest. Thank you chancellors for wasting my time and money :)))))) and this is not the first time this has happened I understand people take houses quickly here but this is insane …

Avoid. Terrible experience trying to let a property through chancellors. Ongoing issues with poor customer service, rude agents who refuse to reply to emails or return calls. Awful experience trying to go through Canopy referencing who draw out the process disputing irrelevant minutiae, finally approved only to have to repeatedly chase a contract which was initially sent after days of chasing with incorrect information. Currently facing potentially having no where to live in 3 weeks and Chancellors are not willing to engage with us. Unable to contact a manager to escalate the issue or speak with anyone who is able to advise the current position of the tenancy. Very willing to take £346 holding fee but not prepared to treat customers with any respect.

My neighbour's four bedroom detached house has been listed by Chancellors as a three bedroom semi-detached house! The floor plan shows two bedrooms desinated as bedroom 3. And the number of bathrooms is wrong. They were told about this last Friday and nothing has been done about it. Hopeless.

We had the worst experience ever with bracknel branch chancellors . We finalised on a property to rent at royal winchester bracknel without even visiting , just agreed on it looking at the vedio of the flat. We went through the whole process of creating the rent passport , providing all that million documentation from our side which had a full details of us , then we had to provide a uk home owner as guarantor. We finally managed to get that as well , & then they started scrutinising the guarantor for all income details & everything. After a month of doing whole process they got back telling that guarantor details doesn’t pass the owner’s requirements & hence owner declined to rent the property to us , even though our details matched the criteria of tenant eligibility. Worst part was they took out card details telling that nothing will be deducted unless you move in , & when the whole process did not get through they have deducted close to 300 £ , without even informing us . When we try to get in touch , MS Danielle has conveniently ignored our constant calls & emails from 2 days . We have been in Uk for 4 years & right now we are in 4th house & this is the first worst experience we have had . Looks like the whole thing was a scam to take money out of us for nothing. Looks like a big scam agents these are trying to make money out of us by asking for unnecessary details & then rejecting the offer . I would never recommend & please be aware of these chancellors.

DO NOT USE.... Chancellors valued my property way higher than it is worth to win business. Do not fall for the same mistake I did... they have lots of market presence but notice that 95% are for sale and not sold. They tie you in to a long sole agency contract and just ask you to reduce.. sometimes twice in the space of one week!!! My property was on the market in June and they have not had one viewing. When out of contract, they tried to claim if I go with another agent, be sure of who their introduced buyers are. By 'Introduced', they classify this as someone spoken to about your property and not necessarily actually been out to view. Based on this I was expecting at least 100 people being in the profession myself. When withdrawn the list of 'spoken to / emailed to' buyers was no more than 30. They claim to be a good agent and use neighboring offices to play to their advantage however clearly this had not been done due to the few people spoken to despite being on market for 3 months. Leads were missed and or not called until the next day. Not a proactive agent and only interested in the money-earners. Anyone with a 1/2 bedroom - AVOID AVOID AVOID.NegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism, Value

I moved into a flat recently and chancellors lied to me about a number of things, my flat is £750 a month plus bills. They said there was heating and gas connected and they lied, multiple times in writing, they also forgot to write in tenancy that they gave my neighbours upstairs a key to my property to access my flat whilst I'm out, they lied about this over and over again until the neighbours actually locked me in my own flat because they 'arent comfortable with my background and me being on benefits' (one of the male students was caught peering through my window as I changed and weirdly chancellors have tricked me and caused me to be completely suicidal due to what they have done to me, I got this place in seek of refuge and chancellors EXPLOITED me.
