If I could give them no stars i would. Drivers and Norris are the block management company for my block of 12 flats with no lift and no gardens and charge us just under £4000 a year for service charges. We have had no building works, no painting, no maintanance. They are unresponsive, they change agents quite a lot so you can never get anything done, and the residents have to do everything themselves. We are being strangled to death by their fees and lack of action. I have had a hole in my roof (WHERE YOU CAN SEE DAYLIGHT) since march of this year when i reported it and it is now December.
Avoid this agency if you are a tenant. I don’t normally write reviews for things like this but I really found my experience with Drivers to be appalling. From my first day at move in, they forgot I was coming and left me outside in the rain with my cat for an hour, which I also had to pay in late fees to the movers who arrived on time. Drivers and Norris refused to pay the extra fee I incurred because of them, only trying to blame other people. When I arrived, the flat wasn’t nearly properly cleaned and had a spider infestation in the bedroom that I had to clean myself and tons of the old tenants’ garbage left in. Throughout the tenancy, I had horrible issues with mould because the flat clearly didn’t have proper ventilation and there was a leak, but the issue was never adequately addressed. This is the type of agency where you don’t have direct contact with the landlord and use an online portal to them only for requests, which take a while to get a response to. I sent numerous reports detailing the wall being wet, the constant mould growth, and the fact that the bathroom didn’t have a window or working extractor fan, but nothing was done to fix this properly when I could even get a response (simply painting over mould etc). I also therefore wouldn’t recommend this to landlords either because I couldn’t contact mine, and I’m not sure they even know about the state of the property. The agents responsible for the property seemed to quit every month (showing they probably don’t have great work conditions) and so no one communicated within the team and actually followed up on things. After I put in notice to move, the agents didn’t seem to even speak to each other because they would repeatedly call and email me separately not knowing the other had arranged viewings, and twice didn’t show up for viewings. For the viewings they did show up for, the agent didn’t know anything about the property and so I had to explain it to tenants while trying to work from home. Further, once the flat was taken, they didn’t tell the other scheduled viewings, who came all the way to the flat anyway. I was shocked to see that even with all the mould and unaddressed issues, they raised the rent by nearly 300£ for the next tenant. When it came time to get my deposit back, they ghosted me for 10 days after I moved out, and randomly hired a new cleaning company instead of going with the one they recommended to me when they weren’t happy with the clean, so instead of using the free warranty for service that they knew they had, they paid for a new company and then charged me for it. This caused arguments at the end of my tenancy between them, myself, and the owner of the cleaning service who was also upset, which I had to deal with on top of moving and starting a new job elsewhere. The incompetency and lack of caring for tenants, even with serious issues like mould, I experienced with this agency was astounding and I really wouldn’t recommend.
The positive reviews here are fake, I am convinced of it. People at Drivers and Norris are unresponsive, rude and provide misleading information. The sales people keep switching clients and lie about the condition of the property. They broke up a perfectly good deal between me and the landlord, and misled both parties over two months, then refused to return our rent when the deal didn't go through. The worst and sourest service experience I have had in London.
This is the WORST AGENCY YOU CAN WORK WITH! They give misleading information to you and the tenant, dissolving offers claiming you don’t meet the criteria when they are the ones changing the criteria daily so they can get more money from you. As well, anytime you need to speak to someone they are conveniently never in the office. You can wait for weeks before someone gives you a call back even if you call daily. They lie about deadlines and when things are going to be done, delaying everything by not responding to your emails or picking up your calls. When they do pick up, they are truly unprofessional and childish, screaming and gaslighting you when you disagree with them and their way of handling things. They dissolved my tenancy agreement 2 days before moving into the property! These people are SCAMMERS, they will take your money and refuse to give it back. DO NOT PAY them any holding deposit ever!
The agents were co-operative at first, then became downright incompetent and lost us the property. The sourest experience with an Agency in London. The Agents refused to update us, then became rude. Perhaps the worst customer/client care possible.
I’m looking at the reviews and I’m confused as to if these 5 stars reviews are from friends or family of people at Drivers & Norris. Because from my experience with them, I can say these are one of the most difficult people I think I’ve ever had the displeasure of working with. You can wait for months!!!! Before anything is done, they won’t respond to your emails, give you false timelines on when someone will get back to you. When you call the office, the person you need to speak to is always conveniently ‘not in the office’. My experience so far is exhaustion, I’m in shock honestly at how bad the service has been and how long it takes to get anything done, I’ve never ever worked with a letting agent like this in my life. I will never ever use them again, not ever.
I am so upset at how unprofessional this experience was. We held a viewing and were informed that if we put down the holding deposit they will stop all the other viewings. We have put down holding deposit and sent all the required documents to do the reference check within an hour of viewing the flat - long before office closing hours. We have been informed that landlord was contacted about our offer and for about week and a half we have received no real information or updates until today we have been informed that actually other agency had holding deposit from other tenants before us, they have already gave offer to landlord and unless we want to match their price we won’t get the flat. So now we have wasted a lot of time on property that already had an offer.
They were recently exposed by BBC News for treating tenants so poorly. If I could rate this company lower than one star I would. Never use them for rent especially, they're a bunch of con artists. We got our deposit 3 months later after we moved out. Feel sorry for anyone who has Rebecca as their property manager.
Did not show for a scheduled viewing. Never heard of them again.
