We were not having much luck with the well-known "purple" provider and so canvassed around a few estate agents in Greenwich and the quality is unsurprisingly very varied, from the wheeler-dealer types, to the lack of communication types or the quite frankly extortionate types. John Payne was none of these. From a very good start to communication channels with Matthew who was courteous, friendly and punctual on coming to the flat to discuss and offering material to look over, we knew JP would be high up on our list of agents to use. Once we committed to them, Sue Denny took over and within 2 days had a prospective viewing which happened to be our buyer. We waited all of a week to sell the flat whereas the purple provider was much longer and less successful overall. Essentially you pay for what you get and I will admit to being wary of estate agents in the past but JP and in particular Sue were superb. Sue is of course very experienced, knowledgeable and extremely proactive but has also never come across as pushy, over-eager or one-sided; in essence the perfect person to take the reins of a stressful situation in anyone's lifetime moreover in the thick of a pandemic! John Payne offered A* service from the outset - extremely professional, friendly, courteous and always with good humour. Matthew Wright and Andrew Castle visited our property and provided excellent advice and then Susan Denny (Sue) became our key point of contact and managed the sale with support from Ben Smith. Moving in 2020 with the global pandemic was never going to be straightforward, but Sue is superior to any other agent we have come across. John Payne and especially Sue are immensely proactive and really do offer a fantastic service. Despite what became a difficult sale due to the virus and some building regulation issues, Sue’s determination to get the sale over the line never wavered. Ben and Sue were relentless in getting feedback from viewings and kept us up to date in real-time throughout the process, often providing key information before our lawyers did. After being with a different estate agent for 3 months with no luck at all, John Payne took over and immediately got us a lot of viewings. We priced the flat too highly but John Payne consistently brought us viewings and were very close a few times to sealing the deal. They eventually found us a buyer and then managed that through to completion. Their staff, especially Sue and Ben, are highly professional, friendly and responsive. A big recommendation from me!
