Very poor customer service and aggressive sales people.
Recent sold property out. They were managing my flat for renting so charged 1.5% +vat fee instead 2%. But I realised it much higher than UK average fee. Service was fine but fee was high.
When I came to London, I wanted to hire a house around Morden. An agent from Goodfellow viewed a few houses. Even if we didn't like behave of the man, we had to rent a house so we lend it and Goodfellow was responsible for the management of the property. I faced a leaking problem which was from toilet to kitchen. Even if I informed about it to them they didn't response on time and later told me that landlord will come a week later to look into it. Image how frustrating it. After a few attempts, eventually the landlord came and figured it out.
Worst agent ever Kelly! We moved out from our old house and over 2weeks we are still waiting for our deposit to be reliesed, we keep contacting her and she keep saying she will get back to us even though after we moved out the landlord straightaway give his blessing to relieve the deposit for us! We found the new house with this agency and I have to say we had Good experience with Barbara the estate agent
Service is fine, staff is friendly and they have a good system set up. I especially like the ability to sign official documents digitally. But agency fees are extremely high.
They rented a run down mouldy apartment to us and refused to break the lease. We were desperate and had to stay for sometime. They only cared and out the rent and protecting the landlord. . Only one of them Kamilla was really helpful and an angel. It was a very horrible experience and the landlord wanted to withhold the deposit. Luckily we had evidence. After dealing with another agency , I just realised what horror I endured in that apartment and how lax they were . I have attached a picture of the cooking area on check in. Please work on protecting your tenants as well.
I would like to share my recent experience with Goodfellows, Morden branch. I cannot commend Augstein enough for his outstanding professionalism and courteous conduct during property viewings with my mother. He displayed remarkable etiquette, patience, and knowledge, making the process seamless and reassuring. My mother, who has been viewing properties on my behalf, has often remarked on how rare it is to meet an estate agent with such a high level of respect and professionalism. Our experience with the Senior Lettings Manager, Sharmilla, was deeply disappointing Despite offering a strong application for a rental property — including a guarantor who fully met all income requirements and a willingness to pay 12 months' rent upfront — my application was dismissed due to a perceived lack of on-paper income to cover the rent. I’d like to add for context I’m currently privately renting, paying £1900. Being dismissed by the branch manager is entirely unfounded given the financial backing provided. It was shocking to witness a senior manager fail to understand or acknowledge the legitimacy of such an arrangement, which aligns with standard lettings procedures. The purpose of a guarantor and upfront rent payments is to secure the financial obligations of a tenancy. Sharmilla’s outright dismissal raises serious concerns about her understanding of the legal framework, policies, and ethical responsibilities involved in lettings. The situation left us feeling frustrated and undermined. A senior manager in such a role has a duty to offer informed and reasonable service, yet the approach we experienced reflected poor understanding, a lack of empathy, and a failure to adhere to basic industry practices. If senior management operates at this level of incompetence, how can clients have any trust in the wider agency? While I am grateful for the exceptional service provided by Augstein and the rest of the team, the unprofessional conduct and mishandling by the Senior Lettings Manager were overwhelming and detrimental to our overall experience. I strongly urge Goodfellows to invest in management training, particularly in legal and procedural knowledge, communication, and client empathy. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, as the actions of senior management reflect directly on the reputation of the agency. Without addressing these issues, it will be difficult to place trust in Goodfellows as a reliable and professional lettings agency.
Stay away, cowboy operation. Deeply unprofessional whilst working with them for 3 years. Could never turn up for viewings on time to re-let the property. Lied several times when enquiring about basic contractual things. You can receive far better service elsewhere. Really couldn't care less when you speak to them either. Beware
