Unresponsive, unreliable. Letting to another customer after promising me a video of the flat....

Completely unprofessional. Had a viewing booked this afternoon ,booked it a week back . Took an off from office and the guy sent me mail today morning that viewing has to be cancelled . 4 hours prior to booking. Instead of apologizing he is being rude and saying he cant do anything about this , it happens . I can book you another day. Take an off that day again. Wow , stupid !

Very poor etiquette, a company consumed by their greed of money, me and my partner went to view a house on day 2 of people looking, the next day in the morning I made it abundantly clear that we were putting in an offer before close of play, when my partner called them, Martin & Co clearly thought we weren't going to beat the highest bid and had put forward the (before our bid) highest as it stood. They lost out on even more money because we were the highest bidders but they jumped the gun after seeing £ signs. I won't be dealing with this company again, first impressions and all that.

Really poor experience with the team at Martin & Co throughout our tenancy. Emails went long periods with no response, issues were rarely resolved easily, continual change in points of contact. Luckily we have now purchased, but I would have strong reservations about using the Sheffield office if other options were available.

Horrible company with shocking customer service. Please do not rent any of their properties. Me and my partner had a viewing booked for 3:30 on the 21st of August, on the day me and my partner travelled to Sheffield from Leicester (1h30) to attend this viewing. We arrived to the flat around 3:20 but we struggled to find parking so we had to drive around the flat to see if there was any parking until we found an NCP parking space nearby 2-3 mins walk to the flat, as you drive in there is a ticket machine which gives you a ticket stating what time you arrived, the ticket read 3:22. Me and my partner started walking from the parking lot to the flat around 3:25 as I had to park the car, how ever we were outside the flat around 3:28 we noticed no one was outside and had asked a few tenants if they saw anyone waiting outside the building but there was no sight of her, so we waited thinking she was late. After waiting for 3 mins we were getting frustrated so decided to ring the company around 3:31 no one answered, so we kept calling straight for 10 mins from both phones until someone answered 15 minutes later at 3:45 saying the agent isn’t there anymore and accused me and partner of being late to the appointment, which was very rude as we were there early, the lady also mentioned the agent was waiting there for 20 minutes and left for her next which is obviously not true unless the agent is invisible. Me and my partner felt so shocked and distributed by this hence we requested for another agent she said this was not possible and ended the call. We were very enraged by this so we called again explaining we aren’t happy with this and requested for another agent for the viewing, the man said no one is available today and that we shouldn’t have turned up late to the appointment man, so we kept asking if there was someone who can show us the flat so it doesn’t feel like a wasted trip all the way to Sheffield but he answered saying “there is no point viewing this flat, someone just walked in the office and left and application for it” makes me ask so in 5 minutes the flat is gone? I was fuming by this point as he kept repeating “ If you wanted the flat you shouldn’t have turned up late to the appointment” he was very rudely accusing us of being late and making us the culprits out of this issue. In the end this issue was not solved the company ended the phone call on us, we didn’t get the viewing we had arranged for, we were spoken to very rudely, the staff handled our problem very unprofessionally, a very wasted trip especially when me partner were very excited on the day to view our possible new flat, as we really wanted it. Moral of the story please do not rent any of their flats do not use this letting company whatsoever. Thank you.NegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism, Value

Extremely poor & unprofessional. We have lived in a property for 3 years, spending £20,000 on rental. We ensured to the very best of our ability that the property was maintained and kept in good condition. We were never late with a rent payment, and always paid in full, even through the pandemic & lockdown. We never missed a payment. We even helped them find a new tenant. We are in the final throws of buying a house and due to the workload banks are facing, our moving in date was pushed back by a week. We asked if we could pay for an extra week, so we weren't made homeless, I was told flat out no by Josh, who was happy to make us homeless during the pandemic. With my partner working from home for the NHS. We have been left with her unable to work and no where to live. Josh presented us with a series of obstacles that he claimed made it impossible to extend, I offered solutions to each. All of which is refused. Forcing us into homelessness and unpaid leave with our worldly belongings in a garage, praying it survives the cold weather. With no choice but to leave the property on 27th (the next tenant not due in until 12th two weeks later), we cleaned and painted it top to bottom, after all, that's the right thing to do. We were supposed to meeting Mohamed the following day at 4pm. He eventually turned up at almost 5pm. We were then told we would have a reply on our deposit refund the next day. Its 3 days later and we still haven't heard a thing. Truly disgusting behaviourNegativeQuality, Professionalism

Absolutely horrendous, botched everything to do with check in and check out, botched the deposit recovery process, gave the adjudicator the wrong amount, created a lot of agro with leaving tenant and new tenant, made a list of mistakes as long as my arm, would NOT recommend to anyone. PS: I can see a condescending response below from Gina which has no bearing whatsoever on the issues discussed.

I have called and spoke to various people in the office in regards to booking a viewing to rent a property. I seem to be passed from pillar to post, I spoke to a girl named abi at first who's attitude and tone was very un professional, she shouldn't be working on phones. I was then passed to a man who never followed up on it. Know one seems to know what they are doing and its seems like a circus act. I have also walked past the window not so long ago to look at the window brochures and everyone just seems to be eating takeouts with rubbish everywhere at the desk in view of customers. Wouldn't recommend anyone from letting here. I definitely won't be!!
