Sorry you have never been in one of our managed properties. If you have issues with your landlord you should really take it up with them.

If I could give a -1 star rating I would because this is the most unprofessional agency I have ever dealt with... I report a problem about our home we are renting it takes them 6 months to deal with it.. me and my partner are moving out we gave them our 30 day notice they took 10 days to sort stuff out and now they want us to stay here and pay another months rent when we ain’t gonna be living in the home.. we have asked to talk to our landlord and we’re told that we couldn't by the woman I spoke to over the phone she so rude and Arrogant treated me like dirt she told me the reason we couldn’t speak to the landlord was that’s why landlords have agents.. another thing I was told when I explained I couldn’t afford pay the rent no more that’s the reason I am moving she told me that if that’s the case then that’ll be a breach of contract and also she said I would never get a house with any other agent/landlord again after the review they would give us 🤬 so anybody who are thinking about renting through this disgraceful/unprofessional agency save yourself some time and go elsewhere...

Trust me everyone! Do NOT GO WITH THIS ESTATE AGENT ! Myra is fraudulent person! I know 6 people who she has ripped off for their bonds. She charged me for a whole house repaint for a tiny bit of cooking fat splatter by the cooker so I had to pay for the whole has to be repainted to match a different colour she wanted apparently. She turned up at my address unannounced, arranged false viewings on New Years day at 10am! Knowing they were false. I never missed a rent payment or anything, but when I left and she stole all my bond and also charged me for a feather in my living room ! No lie she charged me for a feather! She then gave false references to my next agent. Stating my sister and her children were living with me and lies upon lies. When I asked to see the reference she refused and hung up. DO NOT USE THIS AGENT! FIND ANOTHER ONE!!!!!! EVIL LIAR ! Also I think it's obvious the 5 star ratings on her are also lies probably posted by mara or her friends to help her not look like the disgusting morally empty corrupted maggot she is.

All deposits are held by the DPS Custodial scheme. The arbitration service found in favor of the landlord in this case.

DO NOT RENT FROM LION!!!!!!

One of the most shambolic, incompetent and breathtakingly unprofessional Lettings Agents I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. I have rented from both councils and private landlords - indeed, I have moved 17 times in 25 years with my job, so I think it's fair to say I have encountered enough agents, and landlords, to enable me to give a fair and balanced appraisal of Lions Estate and lettings. This is an agent headed by a recently (in the past 5 years) bankrupt woman who plays fast and loose with the comprehensive laws that govern lettings. She despised my husbans and I as, being from a legal background, we were able to enforce her obligations, and uphold our tenancy rights. Mara Anthony lacks even the most basic and primitive customer service skills, and seems to be devoid of knowledge of the underlying principles of the Landlords and Tenants Act 1985 - and the common sense and decency that covers these areas of the law. She is in entirely the wrong business for someone with such obvious shortcomings in dealing with people and their need - their human RIGHT - for a safe, well-maintained home. She also either fails to understand, or intentionally disregards, the meaning of 'quiet enjoyment' and 'exclusive possession' enshrined by law into every single residential tenancy agreement. Her temperament suggests that she would be better suited to stacking supermarket shelves or in any non-customer-facing role. As a homeowner, and soon-to-be-landlord, I would avoid her like a dose of bubonic plague. I would wager that the charlatans like Lions will doubtless go out of business when the new letting fees ban eventually comes into force.

Absolutely shocking company to rent from. The owner, Mara Anthony, is a vile woman who does not care about the needs and welfare of her customers, only as long as she's getting her money. She has very, very limited customer service skills. We have sought advice from RCT Housing and family that used to work in the housing sector, as a manager, and it has been pointed out to us that there is an error in the agreement that could make it void, therefore, the company shouldn't really be renting to anyone. Lion say they try to get any problems at the property sorted as quickly as possible, yet we have been waiting near enough 6 months to have damp looked at. I have been emailing basically every day stating the problems we're having, and lucky enough to have been getting responses. When my uncle went into Lion to report our issues, and still that nothing has been done about it, Mara stated she doesn't know about them, even though I have been having replies from them. We were informed a damp proofer would be out to the property to take a look at the issue. Lion said if no one is in the property, they will supply them with a key. While we were both in work, apparently this damp proofer did call out, and when we asked to see a report card of the work that was carried out, or work that was looked at, we were told we would have to pay for it. About a month and half later, we started experiencing leaks, so again, I emailed Lion to let them know. They said "a plumber will call out, but someone needs to be in the property as we don't have access". How did the damp proofer apparently call out if they "have no access"? We arranged to be at the property for a plumber to call out. However, on the day, the workman that actually came to the property was a carpenter, and he said he wouldn't want to look at the leaks. What's the point in sending a carpenter out to look at leaks? When my uncle also mentioned to Mara about the 2 sheds at the top of the garden being full of rubbish, she stated she knows nothing about it as she's 'never been to the property before', despite showing us around, and standing in the kitchen when signing the agreement with us the day we moved in! We have been shown a typo in the agreement, which we will bring to their attention as they are scaring us into thinking we have to stay at the property, or pay a fee of £300 to get out early. I feel Lion will take advantage of young, first time renters/buyers as they think we won't know much about how the process works, even though there are many places to see free advice around this. It's safe to say that after all the issues we have had since we first moved in 6 months ago, it's safe to say we will NEVER be renting or buying from Lion again, and if anyone is actually reading this, thinking of renting/ buying with Lions, I can't stress enough how much of a bad idea it would be, and all you would have is trouble and stress dealing with Mara and her team. If we had money for court proceedings we can say without a doubt that we would be taking this as far as possible as we feel them telling us we have to stay at the property is a complete lie as it's an assured shorthold agreement with no fixed term. They said they can't accept a notice to quit yet It says in the agreement they can do it with a fee of £300. It's funny how they cannot accept notice to quit unless there's £300 in their pocket. Again an absolutely shocking company and I cannot stress that enough. To come to a summary, we have had nothing but issues from day 1, causing a whole lot of distress to myself and my partner.
