A blight on the community! Local groups volunteer and work hard to look after our streetscapes and parks but Streets Ahead repeatedly erects an overabundance of advertising signs every few weeks. Signs are put up in clusters of 5 or 6 around our green spaces, stuck in hedges and dumped in parks. They refuse to collect them and community groups have to rely on council resources to have them disposed of. This estate agent is no friend of the community and a blight on Croydon and Addiscombe
I was with streets ahead for over a year and I was managed by Cherelle. My experience was very poor. They consistently avoided our calls about incredibly important things - for example they couldn't care less that we didn't have heating for almost a whole year, making winter bitterly cold, they also didn't want to fix anything in the house and only decided to do some of it when they were looking for their next tenants. Finally, when we moved out, it took 2.5 months to get our deposit back - 2.5 months! I've never experienced someone be so unbelievably inefficient. I had to email and phone many times and go into the branch twice to ask for it - luckily a good guy there helped us get it in the end. I normally would never write a review but I have emails and call logs that show the extent of their lack of care and I had to share with others to avoid making the same mistake as me.NegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism
Absolute waste of time. Streets Ahead (South Norwood) encouraged me to sell to a buy to let purchaser who they apparently ‘know well’ and ‘buys so many properties from them’! Been trying to exchange every week since November 2020, having accepted the offer in August. Turns out “Mr Buy to Let’ hasn’t got enough money for the deposit to exchange. To add: When carrying out viewings they’d often turn up unannounced, explaining they’d sent a text to tell me. The text would arrive the next day! I’d then often end up answering most of the viewer’s questions anyway so might as well have done the viewings in the first place. I’m not sure why I was willing to pay them nearly 8k to sell a house worth 360K. Do yourself a favour. Go with Purple Bricks who charge £1500.00 to sell a property and save yourself.NegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism, Value
Unfortunately I didn't have a pleasant experience with this Estate Agency. As soon as I made an offer for a property, they rushed me to choose a Conveyancer and a Broker in a few days and they also suggested me their associated ones, "Premier Property Lawyers" and "Mortgage Advice Bureau", telling me that choosing different conveyancer and mortgage broker would delay everything. I was happy to choose the broker, even though was slightly expensive and he's still pushing me to do different insurances. I chose Premier Property Lawyers as suggested by the agency because they offered me the cheapest quotation. Eventually I ended up paying the Conveyancer 1000£ extra and he took almost 1 year to complete the purchase of a flat that was ready for moving in (it's important, considering that all the household appliances where insured for 1 year and they were all expired when I moved in). Also, I had to change the Conveyancer in the end, because he wasn't caring at all about my case. Someone else took over. Several issues happened, for example the flat number provided by the Estate Agency was incorrect and obviously it delayed everything. The Conveyancer said that it was Streets Ahead's fault, but Streets Ahead said it was the constructor's fault. The constructor said it was the Agency's fault. Anyway God knows what happened, but for sure communication was never clear and it was difficult to get updates. The agency only started to be concerned about my case in the last 2 months, but before that I haven't heard from anyone. Obviously I had to push to involve the agency, because they pushed me so much to choose Premier Property Lawyers. It was the worst experience I had in my entire life, I can't quantify the amount of stress that I've got from this situation, I also had to contact other solicitors to help me out because I reached a point where I couldn't trust anyone anymore. I'm writing this review because I want people to be aware of what they will go through. There's so much more to say, but I don't even want to think about every single detail, it still causes me stress. Good luck everyone!
We've had the misfortune of living next to a house rented out by the Addiscombe branch. When we reported problems with the anti social tenants, we got vague and unhelpful replies. The company seemed unable and unwilling to help, and the employee we were dealing with barely replied. It got to the point where the neighbours on both sides of the house escalated the complaints to all the senior managers, but they were as unhelpful as the people they managed, and not one of them replied. I bet someone from the company posts a reply to this review, to make it look like they are proactive! The situation was only resolved when the tenants moved out to another property, whilst us poor unfortunate neighbours had endured 6 months of misery, and sleepless nights. The "agents" sent out to show the house to new renters were unprofessional. We could hear from their conversations that they knew nothing of the area, and were given out incorrect advice on rents and deposits. They were more interested in sitting in the car smoking ciggies, and expertly flicking out the dog ends, than dealing with viewers. Their website says that their motto is "Nothing is too much trouble." Our experience was the opposite, and we would never recommend anyone uses this company to rent out their property.NegativeResponsiveness, Professionalism
Croydon Branch Couldn’t organise a drink in a brewery, gave me a property with a faulty locks that failed twice in two days. I slept in my car because they couldn’t do anything, after I paid a locksmith come out the tonight before. Property manger, waste oxygen, ask for assistance with a vermin infestation didn’t do anything for two week. Window handles didn’t un/lock. Two weeks. Hot water didn’t for two weeks when I arrived. Eletric same. The company was pestered wait while we got hypothermia, the advise - but a space hitter, wasn’t refunded. Also I’m genuinely surprised at the positive comments, I can only think it’s the branch My advise, the branch should fold
Terrible experience. I am still waiting for my deposit 2 months after I left. I have phoned twice a week and sent numerous emails and I am just getting silence. I get promised someone will return my call and no one ever has. Just ridiculous. Is this even legal?NegativeResponsiveness, Professionalism
Non stop spamming, 5 texts a day, 3 calls a night, uncountable emails no matter how many times you tell them to remove you from their database. Do not give contact details to them at any point unless legal obliged. More spammy than a no win no fee. Useless at selling properties too, agents didn't know a thing, so glad we were able to find a place elsewhere.NegativeQuality, Professionalism
I am searching for a property to buy, went there 3 weeks ago. They said estate agent and financial adviser would call me but never happened. The person there was very friendly but it seems they don´t need new customers.NegativeResponsiveness
