Absolutely terrible company, bad experiences all round

Incompetence personified! No understanding of contracts or how they work, the MD is never available (or so they tell you, but my wife sat in their offices today and observed the ladies on the phone telling someone he is not in the office while he walked past), told my wife to climb 4 meters up to change an external lightbulb that was too high for the electrician to reach, argued with me that wet and damp are two different issues, have sent me three differing calculations for my final rent payment, the staff have no understanding of professional etiquette. For months they bothered me about my rent being late as they were incapable of updating their system and just a couple weeks ago I was told that the rent payment due on 30th of December was late and when I queried it I was sent a statement as proof, but it showed the "missing" payment as having been received on the 27th December.

Hi Steve, our contracts are a legal contract by a solicitor and if you want an appointment with the director anything has to go through the manager first as procedure. For changing light bulbs and general up keep as a tenant you have to maintain this. Our staff are trained and we up keep the best lettings agents with over 1,200 properties so we must be doing something right. We have issued you with your final payment with your demands and have been very accommodating. The calculations which we got from yourself were wrong and we understand you are frustrated about this but our system manually works it out, if you have an issue with our system then it is run by a third party who also supplies from many more agents. Also please note we also gave you an early break. We did everything over and above for you but still not happy, not our fault you didn't have your rent up to date. We wish you the best for the future.

One star is generous for these people. We rented a property off of them and there were so many issues with our experience, let’s start with the fact they painted over mould to hide it was there, it took them a year and half to take the let sign down. they were going to get rid of the rubbish they created in the garden before we moved in, this never got done. Now we have managed to get away they are now disputing the deposit, even though in their own tenancy agreement they state that no deductions can be made if we were not contacted 10 days after giving the keys back (we weren’t!). Shocking, greedy landlord, would never rent or buy a property from these people again.

I can see over the time in which you rented from us repairs were carried out at the property. It is shame that after you leave to report this online and not to us directly. In regards to the deposit again this could be discussed with the office again. We wish you the best renting with others in the future.

worse service i received from manager olivia took them 16 days to give auswer which they could of gone first day. but rip off service. if there was option of 0 star i would given that

Our referencing is held with another company as stated to you on numerous occasions. When your referencing came back we gave you the opportunity to amend this direct with the referencing company. This was avoided as you needed to prove the companies house for employment. We did everything in which we could, unfortunately you were unable to get the property because of this and therefore have left a bad review. We are one of the leading agents and move many people into properties, unfortunately we were unable to move you in but wish you all the best for the future.

This was avoided as you needed to prove the companies house for employment which was not a fake allegation it was told to us and we asked you to prove this. We did everything in which we could, unfortunately you were unable to get the property because of this and therefore have left a bad review. I absolutely love my new property but the absolutely worst feature is having to deal with rude, patronising and sheer mean staff at whitegates huddersfield. Their behaviour is really strange towards me and really off. I have never in my life ever been treated like this as I am a good tenant, my previous landlord being on very good terms with him for instance. Had disgraceful attitude to a boiler that they will not fix so having to tell kirklees council to complain about them Further to the response from whitegates I hope people will make their own minds up about how real or relevant my complaints are/were, just to clarify it took 8 months to mend the boiler. I moved in to a freezing property and got shouted at for ringing to complain about no heat in wintertime. Thank god im moving out so i never have to deal with these obnoxious clowns ever again.

This is clearly not the case, we have recorded conversations and emails which are contrary to the writer's review. We have explained in regards to the boiler that the engineer has ordered a new part which will not arrive on Saturday afternoon! Unprecedented times indeed!

I had the unfortunate experience of renting from Whitegates at 12 Rook Street, Apartment 5. Throughout the year, I faced persistent issues: missing keys, a broken letterbox, a mold-infested bathroom that led to health problems, and a manager, Tracey Nelson, who exhibited bullying behavior. Despite my continuous efforts to communicate and resolve these issues, the lack of responsiveness from the team was shocking. Even after moving out, communication breakdowns and undisclosed charges persisted. Regrettably, my attempt to resolve matters amicably has proven futile. What's worse, even after a month, I still haven't received my deposit back, and no one has bothered to contact me. A year-long nightmare that concluded with a complete disregard for tenant concerns. 1 star is generous. Emailed Chan and a week later no response. There is also clear discord between building manager and estate agents. 2-3months later I got my deposit back 😂😂 they actually took the piss my God of I ever see a place leased by Whitegates I’d rather be homeless

If you could put 0 stars I would. Service is very poor. When we cancelled our agreement they tried to charge a very high fee. We had nothing agreed but they took the tenants rent as payment. No communication at all. If you are thinking about getting them to manage DONT.
