My partner and I are first time buyers, young couple and was interested in the current new build that had just come available. We had an awful experience with our previous property and needed a better quality house. The property before that was on the same plot allowed us to use the help to buy scheme. We assumed the same scheme was possible with this current house. Before reserving we showed Lovelle’s our mortgage in principle and gifted deposit amount which didn’t add up to the total asking price because we were using Help to Buy. Due to Lovelle’s not checking our mortgage in principle and not correcting us (which they had noticed the mortgage was considerably less as the owner told me over the phone ) we paid £1000 to reserve the property. Months down the line, the developer found out we were using Help to Buy and told us he didn’t offer that scheme and we ended up losing the house and deposit. I was 5 months pregnant at the time and was becoming very stressed. The owner rang me and said one of her team assumed we had a gifted deposit for the rest of the amount of the property (which was £50,000!) When I complained and asked for support in receiving our £1000 deposit back from the developer we were shut down. We wouldn’t of reserved the house if we knew he didn’t use Help to Buy but we were not informed and it was not picked up- even though they deal with this day in and day out. I was extremely stressed, upset and disappointed in the response to our situation.
Lovelle HUMBERSTON listed a house for sale which we wanted to view. We were able to view it rather quickly, the lady who showed us round was very nice also, think she’s the owner but I can’t be sure. We put an offer in on the property straight away, the offer was above asking price. The seller apparently wanted the person who could move the fastest. Lovelle allowed us and another buyer battle against each other basically, we were told the first person who could move the fastest could have the property. I was told we were in a much simpler chain than the other buyers. I rushed around for a couple of days, tried so hard, put pressure on our buyers to move things as quickly as possible. I contacted Lovelle each time I got a step further and the whole way was told we were one step ahead of the other buyer. We were told we would be given a decision one day however we were kept hanging on. The next day I contacted them to be told they were waiting on contact from the seller. Another day passed, I received confirmation our buyer had completed all steps and we were ready to go so I called and they said they will call the seller but they were so confident the property was ours, they said they will call me back straight away... they didn’t! That evening passed, we thought the property was ours. I called again in the morning and was told someone will call me back. I received a call back some time later to be told they were giving the property to someone else! I understand the buyer makes the overall decision but Lovelle should never have allowed this. It was so stressful and they didn’t seem to care. This also happened to a friend of ours, they said they had the exact same experience with Lovelle having to battle against another buyer. I wasn’t going to write a review however I made a comment on a Facebook picture they uploaded a few days ago and the comment was deleted. Why delete the comment and block me from commenting on any other post! I did screenshot the post and comments however I can’t post them on my review. I would never deal with this estate agent again, buying or selling!NegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism
They can't quite understand the concept of the courtesy call
Disappointing to say the least - couldn’t even get someone round to value our property. Made appointments and then cancelled them... no effort made from them. Very poor.
Rushed me round the property I viewed and every time I went to look at some fault she didn't want me to see she quickly changed the subject. Dishonest, but then they are estate agents and it's what you should expect I suppose. Be careful when viewing one of their properties.
The person who shows you round properties is awful.not a nice person speaks to you like crap.defintly wouldnt deal with these again
