Not a pleasant experience really. Very unprofessional staff, less than 1week away from completion - it was the staff threatening to pull out unless sale was completed prior to month end (which of course fell midweek and affected their figures). Few problems along the way, certainly out of my control but they're supposed to be the professionals .... NOT!!!!.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We were genuinely surprised and upset to receive it three months after your successful property purchase. I have retrieved your file from the archive and taken the time to review it. Respectfully, I think you may have misunderstood the sales process and made incorrect assumptions. We categorically do not incentivise our staff to complete a sale within a deadline, to say this is unequivocally untrue. Naturally, we are motivated to facilitate a successful sale, and certainly, to suggest we actively set out to lose a sale so close to completion would be counterintuitive. We are not solicitors and do not have control over the conveyancing process or its associated timescales. Furthermore, we do not possess the authority to withdraw a property from sale, as we are not the property owners. Our actions are guided by the instructions of our clients, who have instructed us and are paying us to facilitate the sale of their property. In this particular case, the Vendors felt that your solicitor was wasting time by repeatedly raising enquiries so close to the end of the sales process and consequently instructed us to issue a deadline on their behalf. I hope you have settled into your new home. If we can be of any assistance in the future, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

AVOID! Decided to go with Normie due to their “reputation’ but have been very disappointed with their service throughout. Initially gave our property to Normie as Nigel was very pleasant and seemed confident that he could sell our property at the initial visit but his demeanour changed after signing the contract. Nigel took photos of the house at the end of the day and it was quite clear he was rushing and the photos were taken in less than 10 minutes. After gaining a second opinion from another estate agent they said that these were the poorest photos that they’ve ever seen from Normie. There was no communication from Normie following months of the house being on sale to discuss price deduction or alternative marketing techniques and it was ourselves who had to contact Normie to suggest this. Normie are the professionals and if they did not feel as though they could sell the house at the agreed price then they should have not taken on the property. There were multiple times that Normie cancelled viewings without prior notice leading to massive inconveniences on the day. We were even told by a sales agent in front of a potential buyer ‘I’ve never been to this property before, I’d like to be shown around’ which we found to be very unprofessional. When my husband expressed his concerns regarding lack of communication and unprofessionalism, Josh the office manager was not apologetic and wanted to put the blame on us. Please avoid at all costs and go with a company that can offer their time and effort which Normie do not have the ability to do.

Dear Nicola, I apologise for the delay in responding. I’ve previously only ever spoken with your husband, Dr Imran Nisar. I have taken the time to thoroughly investigate the matter, as I wanted to respond comprehensively. As an independent family-run business, we take negative reviews very seriously and strive to learn from them. Had I had ever dealt with you directly, rather than with your husband, Dr Nisar, you would have been aware that you were speaking with a director, not an office manager as stated. As the owner, I understand that we are only as good as our last review, which is why we do not take our hard earned reputation for granted. We welcome all reviews and acknowledge that there are occasions when we do not get it right. Thankfully, the hundreds of 5-star client reviews reflect our team’s dedication and hard work. Property Pricing I agree that it was an error to have marketed your property at the inflated price that, Imran insisted on, as it was against the professional advice provided at the original property appraisal. We only proceeded on the understanding that Dr Nisar would be open to adjusting the price based on market feedback, which unfortunately was consistently ignored. Additionally, Dr Nisar chose not to follow our advice to tidy up the garden and refresh parts of the property, which would have significantly enhanced its appeal. Despite these challenges, we still secured an offer within 2.5% of your asking price—well within the range we originally advised. This offer was more than credible considering the property size and its location behind Unsworth Pole; however, the offer was rejected Viewings While I understand the frustration of cancelled viewings, I want to emphasise that no cancellations were initiated by our office. Viewings were cancelled by potential buyers, which, as you know, is entirely out of our control. As an estate agent, we are equally affected when viewings are cancelled, as it impacts both potential sales and our operational costs. Photography Feedback we received from the viewings highlighted two main issues: the property's presentation and its pricing. Interestingly, some viewers felt that our photos were too impressive, leading to disappointment when they saw the property in person. Whilst a competing and unprofessional agent may choose to criticise our photos, we can only showcase the property as it is. From our notes, we can see Imran not only approved the photos, but expressed he was pleased with them prior to marketing. Absolutely worst agents I've ever had to deal with. Rude as hell with hostile tones to communication, lacking any sense of Customer Service towards tenants and they make you feel like you're always wrong and will judge you. Also had to deal with asthma and black mould so due to structural water/cold wall damage blocked in by a built in wardrobe, confirmed by two damp surveyors and was made out to be our fault and judged and ignored. We also got professional cleaners in to do the flat when we moved out and judged for how we left it (absolutely the same and spotless as we moved it) and 'tried' to take deposit off us for no reason. There are A LOT more horrible experiences I can share during my time 5 years with Normie acting as Landlord for our apartment. But my advice would be, please always dispute your rights as tenants against this company if they try to do anything against you or do not listen. Because trust me they will treat you like nothing and try to do everything they can against your favour and act nasty while doing it too. Avoid!! (Edit: Even Normies reply is on brand for what we are describing in our review 😅)
