We were really looking forward to renting with an agency for a change, especially one as highly regarded as Paramount. However, since move-in last month, any issues seem to be dealt with at a snails pace. We were told the blinds were broken in the master bedroom before moving in, a month and a half later they’re still broken and our follow-up emails are going unanswered. They’re twisted, snapped and unusable. We have a hob failing to work, bathroom wall lights not turning on, peeling lining paper, (we thought they’d be mentioned in the inventory report but they weren’t and we received the report a month after move-in). We’re worried that raising these concerns will either go unanswered or take until next year to resolve. We had a property inspection that we waited in for this morning so we could raise the issues in person but nobody even showed up to that. No cancellation or apology. They’re nice people and I’m sure they mean well, we’re just really disappointed. This is all pretty basic stuff so we don’t have much faith for the next couple years in the property.

Absolute nightmare trying to get your deposit back from this company, they will try anything! They are doing the exact same thing to our neighbour as they did to us, try to get money for cleaning even though we left the place cleaner than when we moved in and then accusing us of staying an extra day and trying to charge one days rent! Disgusting.

We are currently renting a property in London via Paramount. Earlier this evening, around 9, somebody smashed our front window with a big rock, the police came and called Paramount on our behalf requiring the window to be fixed urgently, at least boarded. It is 1 a.m. and after multiple phone calls, Paramount has not sent anybody, our window is wide open, on the lower ground floor, whoever fancies getting in can easily do it, the police has told Paramount we were not safe. Our son is scared and does not want to go to bed, it is hard for us to be reassuring when we are going to have to stay up all night to make sure nobody gets into our property. Paramount is not sending anybody to board the window but does not want to pay for a hotel either. We are so upset and angry at this situation that we wish we could move straight away. Paramount is very good for the renting process but a complete letdown when you have a serious problem. Never thought such a situation could happen renting privately through a reputable estate agent, all the more disappointed that I had left 5 stars feedback when we moved in. Update at 8 the next morning : we have stayed up all night, nobody came to fix or board our window, the worst night ever.

We did have someone out early that morning to board up the window and had it replaced shortly thereafter. I saw a studio flat as soon as it was advertised and sent an enquire through the website to arrange a viewing. Within 3 days I sent them 3 enquires (and completed the forms) and I even called them to express my interest and request a property viewing (that makes 4 enquires in total). They never came back to me. Studio flat was obviously rented and out of the market. Terrible customer service and highly unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend them.

We are a little bit confused because we've double checked our system and can see one of our consultants responded to your first enquiry straight away with a link to ask for more details. Unfortunately by the time you responded back the flat had been taken, but my colleague then asked about your preferences so we could help you in your search. We completely appreciate that the speed of the lettings market can be a challenge, and it's frustrating to find a property you love only for it to be taken by someone else. The good news is that we know of properties that will become available before they hit the market, so we can introduce you to ones that aren't visible to anyone else yet. We don't have a Nick on our team, and because I also can't find your name on our system, I wonder if maybe you are mistaking us for another Paramount? This happens sometimes with another agency of the same name located outside of London. Terrible service from Paramount. Our agent was extremely friendly and accommodating right up until we submitted our offer, then we heard nothing at all. He ignored my calls, texts, and I could only eventually get through to him by calling the front desk and asking to send a message on. Soon after we put the offer in the flat after he said we’d be sure to get it, became ‘let agreed’ on the website. Don’t waste your time with this agency. They just lie to fit their own personal quota of number of viewings/offers received then they don’t care about you anymore. They sell themselves as being different from other lettings agents but to be honest they are just worse.

I spoke to my colleague who you were in contact with and I can see there was a lot of communication back and forth but unfortunately the landlord did make the decision to take the property off the market.
